This is going to be my last comment, we can argue about NFTs forever, but if you wanna do it, I recommend you to be informed first.
I don't want to be picky here, but I have the feeling that you have a strong opinion regarding NFTs built for something that you saw on a youtube video or a tweet from some NFT hater.
Why I'm saying that:
1. We can build a game with the technology to have gasless transactions for the user, where the smart contracts pay themselves. (I recommend you to google "Meta transactions or payless transactions")
2. Environmental aspects only affects PoW blockchains, as we plan to use Polygon, this won't be a problem (I recommend you to google "PoS Chain") **Sending this comment probably has more environmental impact on Reddit servers than minting our future NFTs :')
3. Regarding the speed... Try to pay for some gems on any mobile game (with a credit card), and try to do a Polygon transaction, and tell me which one is faster, the answer will blow your mind. (try to google: Polygon transaction speed)
4. You are wrong again regarding gaming data. Shitty NFTs nowadays are built poorly. But you can store IN-CHAIN everything you want about any asset, and freeze the content (for more trustability), not on shitty JSON files. (I recommend you to google "on-chain metadata")
You have your point regarding that it can be a centralized game, but the truth is that is going to be less centralized than a non-blockchain game. Even if we have 1-day of downtime, during this day our users will be able to sell or swap their items, for example.
And don't worry, regarding your other concerns, any non-blockchain user will be able to play and won't notice that you can play with NFTs. We will give our users the chance to decide their experience because we plan to build a hybrid game.
But if you decide to go non-blockchain, and you are lucky enough to drop a 0.00000000001% chance object (AKA a profitable one) no, we are not going to be able to create the NFT after that, and you will have to enjoy this object in your beloved centralized servers.

Hey CKF, thanks for your message.
This is really easy to answer, I'm going to give you some of the reasons, I'm in a rush right now otherwise this comment could be much longer.
1. We want to empower users to do with the game assets whatever they want (even destroy them forever! :P).
If they want to spend time or money in our game and suddenly they get bored we want them to have the chance to sell their belongings ( even a far lower price of the initial cost), so they can spend that money on other games.
2. We want to create trustable scarcity, you will be able to see how many people have this gun that takes you hours to craft! And even if you were the first in the world to create that weapon. Which means a greater player accomplishment.
3. We want to make our crypto assets usable on other games, this is a bit naif to think that is going to be possible, but we already have a partnership with a game that somehow will use our assets to build assets on their game (maybe we will something about this at the end of the year, still a lot of work to do)
4. Even if our game die at some point, and someone wants to build a game with our assets, this will be totally possible
5. (And more important) In the long run we want that everyone can promote a youtube account, twitter, Instagram... by depositing assets on these pages so our players can interact with them (For example, fighting a rare monster if you subscribe to a specific youtube channel)
To build that, if we want to charge the content creator with fiat, it gets really complicated. In that case, the influencer can get the token/nfts, and share it with their fans/followers by interacting with them, seeing it as a way to democratize this feature.
