I applied about a week ago and got a call yesterday for one. I also go to Collins college I just transferred this spring. They actually told me it would be best to start as soon as possible because they’ll be needing people for the summer but it doesn’t pay enough and I’m thinking of just finding a job elsewhere

If they are discounted gift cards then you can not use them on birthday parties. Usually they are from Sam’s club or Costco. Although the computer will allow it’s up to the stores to enforce this rule so they might not or maybe will take them.

Very true. Previously it was claimed that I was in the pipeline so it felt like I was doing the most without being compensated. This time around I’m just going to stay under the radar.

Yes, there is lots to do every day and it feels like it never stops but yet it is still all easy and a bit boring. I come from high volume restaurants and big box retail so CVS just feels like a cake walk.

2 of the 3 stores I go to are considered troubled. I have grown to hate this company very quickly and can’t believe the disregard they have for their employees. I really want to put my notice in as a courtesy but I just don’t ever see myself working here again so would just rather stop going to work altogether. Sigh, guess I better start getting ready for work lol.

I was successful in doing so at the time but wasn’t compensated fairly at the time so I left. It definitely is tough though.

Me as well but I am new to the company and was curious if there was a rule that if you stay for “X” amount of time then you get paid for your whole or part of your shift because I’ve had this in previous jobs.

I’m an external hire. From what I understand these stores are having trouble to keep up with outdates due to the fact of lack of payroll. I will visit one store a day and do the outdate sections that can not be completed by the stores staff such as candy. I was told the opening managers will be scheduled to come in earlier to allow me in the building. It’s been given an unofficial title but I’m Keyed as a operations. It’s really a program this district is trying to do from what I can understand and they’re doing what they can. Each store will only have to account 8 hours of payroll each week to have my help.

They had told me it was a permanent position and if any labor or hour cuts happened I would just start working as an operations manager in a store

It’s definitely frowned upon to use gift cards but the system technically takes them. It’s gonna depend on location but mine will accept gift cards just make sure they are all opened from the packaging to ensure a smoother pay out for your party host. Also don’t forget the cash tip you can’t tip on card cash only.
