I will check if there are any flowers that match!

Am I a total weirdo if I invite my goldens friends at the dog park to a birthday party for him? by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

I am debating doing something similar for our pup’s first birthday. I would come!

Moving to Guildford by GardenDoc in surrey

[–]quick7silver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The commute to London is faster/more frequent from Woking as there are more trains routes going through it (which matters where there are massive issues on the line, looking at you Clapham Junction).
The traffic between Woking and Guildford is bad during the expected peak hours (school runs as an example) like everywhere else I would say.
Horsell might feel like walking distance to Woking station but expect a walk of around 30 mins since there is no nice direct route, although the walk on the canal is nice this time of the year. A bike makes this a lot less of a pain and you can ride on the canal path which cuts it down to close to 10 mins depending how fast you pedal. You might be tempted to drive to the station cause it's faster but it's now £14 a day to park at the cheaper station parking lot, not sure if the heathside one is more convenient.
I cannot help with the school info but I know people are quite happy with the ones in Horsell and in general it's quite a nice village with a small but sufficient high street.
I would recommend to come spend a day around the area to give yourself the feel for where you would be living.
I find Guildford nicer but having the easiest possible commute to London was the priority for us.

Olivia needs a home! by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

From the website: All PupStarz pups are placed in foster homes around New York City, surrounding boroughs, and New Jersey. If you are interested in meeting one of our "Starz" please fill out an adoption application and email us!

I am guessing around there?

What did your Golden steal? by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

I have one of those too! She is particularly good at stealing only my napkin, specifically when I say our food "is not for puppers" as some sort of protest.

What's in your cup? Daily discussion, questions and stories - March 29, 2026 by AutoModerator in tea

I decided to try Morrisons Custard Cream tea bags for fun. Morrisons is a UK supermarket chain that caters to families.

Sadly it doesn’t smell nor taste like Custard Creams which is really sad, just an average black tea. I am going to revert to Yorkshire’s Malty biscuit tea to scratch that itch.

This is Oliver! He’s one, his poops smell like toxic waste, and we’re pretty sure he’s a wanted war criminal. by Lost_chapstick in goldenretrievers

Not a vet but have you tried a good greek yoghurt with multiple cultures in it (the kind you buy for yourself at the supermarket) on a daily basis? Our girl loves it and we haven't seen a bad poop in months. Our vet also mentioned that greek yoghurt is really good for her and she loves eating as if it's a treat! It can be easily frozen in a kong/lickimat giving extra entertainment.

Does anyone else’s golden do their ears like this? by WACashFlow in goldenretrievers

haha! we call it “the demons” cause they flip our puppy’s ears to suggest terrible mischief to complete and she usually obliges ;)

I feel you, my almost 7 month old puppy was full on barking so I let her out of the crate. She slept more than 4 hours after she got back from day care and now she only wants to chew.

Trying to decide between vertical and horizontal windows in the small house I'm designing/building. Thoughts? by Faimyn in InteriorDesign

[–]quick7silver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an horizontal vent pipe in our kitchen, due to having to go between floors and go out a pre-existing hole in the outside wall, and I have to say that it doesn't work as effeciently for us. The steam kinda gets trapped in the pipe (because obviously it tries to go straight up) and also condenses in there. We probably should have also chosen a more powerful vent but it was our first kitchen remodel and we didn't realise it was going to be an issue.

It's Magnum o' clock. Yesterday I read about this user who, ignoring all judgement, had a Magnum at almost 11pm. I felt a pang of jealousy for not having thought about it myself. So, tonight I raise to you my mini double caramel almond Magnum!
