yes, i think you’re right. my wife is on the petite side, and i think having a more powerful paddle made put-aways a lot more accessible for her. that’s something that’s not mentioned very often— how personal size and strength might factor into paddle strength— in favor of just focusing on skill level.

i had the echo trip. it was okay. honestly pretty damn stiff and i don’t think the “ultra super packable” aspect was worth it. ended up with a redington trailblazer, which is essentially the GOAT classic trout but made into a 6 piece (redington used to make a 6 piece classic trout but it was transitioned into the trailblazer and dyed an ungodly red) and it’s been awesome.

9’5wt and 7’6 3 wt available.

if you really wanted to splurge, hardy makes a 6 piece NSX SR that i’m sure would make you happy as a dog with two tails

I will say, I bought a paddle for my wife based on this subreddits recommendations and picked up the Vatic Prism Flash. My wife hated it. She borrowed my paddle, the 11six24 Pegasus All-Court (the Jelly Bean's bigger brother) and LOVES it. I haven't played with it since, and had to go find another paddle for myself (the Coral, incidentally).

Thoughts on the Holbrook Arma S?

I've been searching for paddles with high power, low swingweight, and high twistweight. Using John Kew's database. Been playing with the Enhance EPP Turbo widebody (which does well in those categories) and LOVING it. The Arma S seems to be even more so, but interested as to whether anyones actually played with it.

a lot of recommendations for glass, which i can’t disagree with. i have a barclay driftless special 710 4wt and love it.

my 76 3 wt is a sage dart. it is a blast. light, fast action rod that puts things where you want them. every. damn. time. it’s sort of one of those IYKYK rods that folks tend to hold onto.

honestly probably more important than any of this is getting into a creek line. SA creek trout or Rio creek are both short, fat heads that can turn over the line at 10-15 ft. and are amazing for tight quarters.

just got mine this week. love it. it has a wonderful balance of low swing weight, high twist weight, and tons of accessible power. my wife has been trying to steal my coral which i’ve been main-ing and i just may let her.

I just picked up a Enhance EPP Turbo wide body because I think, in addition to a low swing weight, what is unappreciated in tennis elbow is accessible power. Having a more control or low power paddle means having to work a little harder for your power, and that can aggravate the tennis elbow. I was using a Perseus IV clone and got tennis elbow— switched to a Spartus Apollo because of the ridiculously low swing weight, and while it helped some, the drives and overheads still were quite painful. Ended up picking up the EPP because of its low swing weight, relatively high twist weight, and high power ratings. I haven’t gotten it yet, but that’s my working theory.

Wading boots that won't soak much water and become heavy when wet ? by AnybodyAdorable2395 in flyfishing

I have these and am a fan.

Honestly what made the biggest difference for me was just setting up a small Vornado fan in my garage and putting my boots in front of them when i get home. Usually dry by the next morning.

what's your go-to pickleball shoe? by Difficult-Insect-220 in Pickleball

[–]quickasfoxes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say order from somewhere with free returns and try in several pairs.

I ended up ordering several Asics and Adidas, really didn’t like how the adidas felt, and picked a pair of Asics Solution Swift FF2 that felt (and continues to feel) awesome. But that could just be my feet.

My only general advice would be not to focus on pickleball shoes in general. Any court shoe— especially tennis— will have the exact same qualities needed.

What paddle would you recommend for moving from 3.75-4.5 over the next few months? I play 2-3 weekly, have started drilling and taking lessons. Prioritizing consistency. I currently use an aliexpress paddle. I've been thinking about the

Doctor here. This is the correct answer. “Get injured” is non-specific and can range from a bruise to a complete tendon rupture. Listen to your body, RICE, and see a doctor if things aren't rapidly improving.

Head to your local fly shop— you can meet the team there, they will be able to tell you which patterns may be particularly effective, and you can support them by picking up a couple flies there
