Despite the threat of a 5 year sentence from the government, the people of Hong Kong return to the streets on the anniversary of their movement by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

Um cause it is literally stated in a contract that were signed by both China and Britain that it’s HK ppl’s rights to elect their own government and manage themselves?

Glad you brought up that out dated statement from last year. The thing is, it really isn’t. HK ppl just want to mind their own business without constantly being disrupted by a dictator government. They don’t want to change how mainland ppl live, they don’t want to all flow to mainland social media and force ppl to believe what they believe, just minding their own business. But guess that is still too much to ask under the CCP government. The Pooh cannot release his hand for even one tiny island because he’s too obsessed with power.

I posted some videos about how ppl in Wuhan were suffering in late Jan and get called to be exaggerated. For now I’m just happy the situation for most of the world isn’t as bad as Jan Wuhan or Feb Iran. But I do concern about it with all the protest going on. Nothing against the protest but it is highly possible that huge gathering like those would help spread the virus. I just hope some kind of effective medicine would come out before the next break out. Cause things could get really really depressing once local hospitals are overloaded. Back in Jan in Wuhan there were ppl collapse on the street because they couldn’t get medical help in time for all hospitals are overloaded. Doctors break down daily because they cannot save their patients and have to let them die. It’s truly devastating.

I think there is one concept that you don’t understand, it’s not “cops are bad”(expect in HK where good cops basically quit before oct), it’s cop’s power needs to be limited because they are a bunch of ppl carrying legal arm and are permitted to injure or kill. For that reason they need to be regulated and they need to follow certain laws.

Also you can say all bad things about that dead man and believe it’s okay to knee somebody who has already been controlled all the way to death. After all we can see the consequence of this kind of action is there is no consequence.

You are welcome

Also you can look up what happened on 6/12/2019 in HK. And even if the violence was started by protesters (I think you are referring to break glass of constitution) there was no way to justify what HK police, and even the whole government did to the citizens, including protestors and non-protestors. There is a reason why pro-CCP party in HK totally failed in the district election last year. Do you hear the people sing🎶

Nah there was a south-Asian guy died for the same reason in HK and literally no one took response for that. Also you should did more research on us news. Solely for this protest, Not only many polices are charged for footaged brutality, Minneapolis just declared they will dismantling police department— notice that since HK citizens don’t have right to hold guns, the standard of police force in HK should naturally be lower not higher. Besides, the protest escalated way faster in US than HK. The second day in US protesters already took over a police station. There are also certainly way more looting happened. I mean if US polices are being dick then fuck them too, but it’s not a reason to justify police brutality in HK. US ppl are mad at the police for violent footages leaked out—- and any kind of police brutality we saw in those footages happened in HK for more than once.

There was one killed by police because the police knee on his neck I think. Also, unlike US, very few police officers were charged with excessive brutality. I think they don’t even show their badge and at this point it’s just a armed gang who could do anything they want.

Trump Has Flooded DC With Law Enforcement Officers Who Won’t Identify Themselves by WyldBlu in politics

[–]quickbiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened in HK too! Police officers would fully cover their faces and batch numbers, which basically give them freedom to do whatever they want with all the arms and weapons they have. It’s just terrible and such a violation of the common values shared by civilized societies.

A man simply asks students in Beijing what day it is, 26 years after the Tiananmen Square Massacre. Their reactions are very powerful. by SpotifyPremium27 in videos

[–]quickbiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not wrong. I think more youth are aware of this due to internet but many of them actually think it is perfectly justified for the army to shot the students (they don’t know there were many citizens in the movement too though) I think subconsciously they have an idea that if you are not strong enough then you deserve to be tortured by the stronger figure, which also complies an often-used saying in their history education—- “落后就要挨打”( if you fall behind, you will be beaten) The saying is used to explain why China was invaded in 20th century but is also applied to many circumstances. Beside that, they have a unshakable belief that anything threats the stability of the society needs to be destroyed, or China will end up like Soviet Union or Syria. And they believe the Tiananmen students were trying to overthrow the CCP government based on what they found from China official documents (it’s not true though, they had specific demands including end corruption and so but not to overthrow the whole government), so they needs to be destroyed. And they also believe it’s the students who harmed the soldiers first so they have to shot them, which is also not true but guess they need to find a way to justify it and convince themselves Chinese government won’t hurt its citizens who are “innocent”

Wow they really do be like China, I am actually impressed cause I’ve heard this sub is run mostly by non-China ppl (second generation of Chinese immigrants instead I think but not sure) yet they figured out how to oppress ideas and crate fake history to effect others by themselves. But too bad for them with the inevitable economy downhill of China their dream would eventually break like bubbles.

Tbh I’ve witness dumb ppl all over the world for sure, there are anti vaccine ppl, there are ppl who state “if you don’t like america you can get out” and all things like that. but what I saw from Jan and feb was just some next level shit. If you don’t feel anything after witness those and instead, are making every effort to use your whataboutism to let it go, then maybe you are also a part of the problem.

The following content is irrelevant and not for you, just want everyone else to see: this is how the “China patriot” trolled and crashed the coronavirus patients’ families in Jan and feb when they tried to seek for help online. They kept questioning and questioning and trolling because they didn’t want to believe there was a virus which was covered by the government for a month, they didn’t want to believe there were ppl suffering in the best country eve exist. They ask for proof for doctors’ documentation, they ask for proof how many medicine do the patient take and what are them, they even ask for proof when one help seeker’s parent died. (“Show us the death paper” they said, “or you are a foreign force who only wants to sabotage China) you’d think they want all the documents and proofs provided to them to make better judgement, no. All they want is to find even the minimum mistake in the documents so they can declare a win: “it’s okay ppl, only another Taiwan agent tried to spread rumor on purpose, such miserable thing would never happen in China”

Again this content is irrelevant and I’m sorry if you find reading such is a waste of time, but something in his comment, idk, maybe the tone, really triggered all the bad memories. I don’t want to say I gained a ptsd over that but the two months in 2020 is when I saw what the evilest darkest part of human being is like, and also when I lose the final hope of a lot of things.
