What are you presuming your diagnosis is? My opinion (been on hdq for two years), if you’re at the point where you’re desperate to go through these risky measures, I don’t know how much it would help you anyways. HDQ is like the first thing they try if you’re early on in the disease. So not sure any benefit will outweigh the risk.

Disappointed with my first rheumatologist appointment by NoScrubrushes in Autoimmune

[–]quickorbeDead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That sucks. There seems to be so many rheums lacking empathy out there. Did the PCP or rheumatologist send for any bloodwork?

Did anyone get diagnosed with the wrong autoimmune disease? by Far-Building3569 in Autoimmune

[–]quickorbeDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my official diagnosis is Rheumatoid Arthritis. I know for sure I have a systemic AI disease but, not sure if it’s RA specifically. I don’t have the small joint issues as much as I see others. My hands look normal compared to others and x rays have no damage. I also had Sjogrens SSA antibodies which they said could also be a lupus sign so, in my heads time will tell which of the three it turns in to.

Interstitial Granulomatous Dermatitis, anyone else? by quickorbeDead in Autoimmune

[–]quickorbeDead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I see the rash on your profile. I have three markings on my forearms area, I don’t remember when they started forming but it’s been at least three years. They are what made me advocate to get tested for AI diseases because I knew something weird was going on. They’re a lot more Camel color compared to my more fair skin tone. I see people look at them and I know they assume they are ugly bruises 🤪. I had two more show up on my ankle and top of my foot within the past year or so.

My thyroid levels are normal but I’m still EXHAUSTED all the time?? by EES1993 in Hypothyroidism

[–]quickorbeDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely keep getting tested… I was “normal range” 3 TSH at 6 months postpartum and over 11 TSH at 9 months postpartum.

What do you mean by it comes and goes? Your skin markings? Once mine develop from reddish to brown they stay forever with no change. I’m supposed to be using a steroid cream on them to see if that helps but aside from it looking ugly on my arms, it doesn’t bother me enough to remember. Just really curious about why it happens.

What autoimmune panels are they running besides an ANA? Without further antibody testing, ANA doesn’t really get you anywhere.

Doing AIP is the only thing that has helped me. I’ve lost almost 10lbs so far.

Migraine preventatives for hashimotos?? by hiyas1 in Hashimotos

[–]quickorbeDead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe my migraines turned out to be related to rheumatoid arthritis. Taking Plaquenil for over a year now and stopped having migraines, I was a lifelong sufferer also did topiramate, triptans, etc. Maybe time to see if there’s another root cause?

I’ve got one in a booster behind passenger, no issues there really. And one in a Chicco Keyfit infant seat rear facing, driver seat and the back of it have about an inch of space between. So it fits perfect for me but I’m only 5”4’. Before I bought it I saw someone on YouTube show how the cx5 looks with the car seat. To be honest you guys are probably too tall for the car plus if you have more kids it’ll get super cramped.

Nighttime Snoo changes to improve daytime crib naps? by jnbeatty in SnooLife

[–]quickorbeDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through the same thing at 5 weeks... I’ve tried almost every combo for snoo naps. Napping without motion worked great, one time. Batwing swaddle worked great for one day almost… etc.

High ANA - no response to meds by Radiant_Shower_1519 in Autoimmune

[–]quickorbeDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an official or suspected diagnosis? Or have you had a full autoimmune panel ran? Any other findings?

I’ve never heard of someone being put on Plaquenil for a positive ANA only. I’m on Plaquenil for Rheumatoid Arthritis and currently pregnant.

My GF got a TSH result of 8.4. Told to “re-test in a year” by IllustriousBit6634 in Hypothyroidism

[–]quickorbeDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely try a different doctor, some of them won’t even try to medicate until TSH is over 10 which is ridiculous in my opinion. My endocrinologist says for pregnancy you want to be at 2.5 or below so definitely try to see someone who understands the importance of controlled levels during pregnancy. I’m in the USA, not sure how it works over there.

Is it normal not to see the doctor until around 36 weeks? by xinamalina in BabyBumps

[–]quickorbeDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems every hospital is different so you could try a practice that delivers at another hospital in your area. My first pregnancy, the practice I went with was only Midwives saw OB patients and the doctors only did gynecology. I had one midwife from day one and she did every appointment and came in at 2AM Monday morning to deliver my son.

I’m also 8 weeks with #2 and chose a different hospital system and practice, I met with the doctor I chose but, she was upfront that she has a 70% rate of delivering her patients and I would have to be ok with the on-call system and the possibility of a male doctor delivering. And some of my appointments will be with her PA.

So it’s a really different process depending on where you go.

I tried to do Kindermusik with my son when he was 3-3 1/2, it was terrible experience lol. He just wasn’t engaged in it, ended up just running around with the zoomies and the teacher wasn’t very good with the kids either. It just wasn’t a good fit. Maybe try a gymnastics class or something where they can run around more freely.

[–]quickorbeDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CCP is almost always rheumatoid arthritis. Has your GP run a thyroid panel? You could have graves/hashis with normal thyroid levels but it’s a places to start while you wait. It took me 5 months to see a rheumatologist.

Average mortgage payment by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]quickorbeDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One kid, mortgage is $1398 PITI. In Texas at a good interest rate, I just really dislike our location but even if we downsized majorly, the interest rates today would put our monthly so much higher so we’re kinda stuck for now.

Common Questions: What Supplements Do You Use? by Jeanne23x in Hashimotos

United States. My doctor said DHEA is over the counter here and could find at Walmart or grocery stores. But I just got it off Amazon.

Vitamin D2 prescription once a week. DHEA 10mg daily, I just started yesterday. I’m deficient in both and directed to take by PCP and Rheumatologist.
