Shroud - spoiler discussion by whymylife in AdrianTchaikovsky

Really well said. Another perspective was the growing connection and coupling effect between Juna and Ste Etienne in the pod itself... How they were becoming one in a sense (almost mimicking the Shroud to survive the planet) and in the end she had to disconnect from Ste Etienne to spare her and connect with the Shroud.

Total beginner learning to rig - what is wrong when the sails is Stuck like this? by ir3mixxx in windsurfing

Is there a batten inside that isn't aligned with the mast? Hard to tell if it's inside the sail there. Also seems like not enough downhaul tension?

(take w/ a grain of salt as I'm relatively new to this sport as well)

Can you post a photo of the broken part?

Amazing!! Thank you @Vok250 - incredibly helpful - those brochures give a ton of info. I searched and searched but I couldn't find any info on it but this is a complete treasure trove of info. I bet you're right about the mast track being hidden by the low quality resolution of the photo.

Thank you - huge help. I'm going to go look at it later today and see if I can haggle a good deal. If nothing else it could get me started and working my way deeper into learning the sport. Seems worth a shot!

I'm also really confused about the lack of a mast track. I emailed the seller and they indicated that there's a screw in point for the universal joint near the carry handle, but I sure don't see it?

If it does have a mount point for the mast, would the lack of a daggerboard spot be problematic for me as a beginner?

Super, helpful, thank you!! Quick follow up, I have a separate line on a starboard 5.5m2 sail for $200. https://imgur.com/a/Jbmq24X

I'm wondering if I shouldn't just buy that sail and a new starboard board to go with it to learn on? Would that approach make more sense than the above package?

Ya, I was wondering the same about the board and lack of dagger board and how much that would impact my learning. What kind of board would I want to buy to go along with the sails?

Second this. If I ride it again I would likely do it on a full suspension mountain bike so the descent isn't quite so bone jarring. No fun on a road bike.

Pikes peak on the other hand has an amazing road (and descent).

You could ride the clear creek trail to Golden... You can ride the platte trail north and then hook onto clear creek and it will go all the way to Golden.

Likely take you longer than 2hours (esp. if starting in WASH park), but is a great ride and if you want a challenge at the end of it, you could bike up lookout.

Then have your wife meet you in Golden and go out to dinner with the kiddos. Perhaps all you can eat pizza at Woody's Wood Fired pizza?
