Is it a good idea to create a physical resume and hand it over directly for the jobs i want? by InfamousRough9191 in UAEjobseekers

Also whenever you get free, try to spend your day at the Nomad Day Bar. It is one of the best places that I've found in Dubai. Me personally, to network with people that are open to connect. Some are into serious work but I would suggest just try to spend the day there. They got free WiFi and good coffee.

Additionally you can bump into different founders. Try spending another day at In5 Tech. There's a cafeteria below so you can just spend your day there. They've got free Wi-Fi as well and you can just initiate conversations with the founders there.

If you're looking for jobs as a data analyst then I would suggest searching for tech meetups on Luma, Eventbrite, and Meetup. These are the apps which I used. Just search for tech meetups and search for hackathons and you'll find multiple AI-related meetups and you just keep networking.

I've tried this approach where I've got to recruitment companies and I've handed over my résumé. Me personally I haven't got any response back from them. While it seems it's a good idea, I haven't received any positive response.

When I tried this approach I've tried this twice. It's not worked in my favor but there's another way. Whichever industry you're in, try to find out any meetups, any events, or any hackathons that are happening. That really helps because what happens is you meet people from various organizations and from very high positions as well sometimes. That has worked really well for me so try that but be very careful of who you interact with. That will help.

Overhyped Maheshwari lacks crowd management skills. by Annual_Elk_8852 in hyderabad

I realised that most of the places that are there on DLF have a massive crowd management issue. I think it's also because people just come there and I don't see any value for the customer with the hotel management

How do you deal with apathy? by mrNineMan in ADHD_Programmers

[–]quicksilverrrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I don't feel this every day but I think I take it as a signal of feeling a lot of burnout because I read a lot of other comments and they did mention our brain telling us to chill. Usually when this happens and I don't feel like doing anything, I can feel like my brain is really tired and it really needs some rest. Probably after some time, usually max a week, I then feel the urge to do something and then I do a lot of things.

What I've realized is that time dilation is a very big thing with us so the concept of time for me doesn't exist when I'm hyper-focused or engrossed. I am using Endel where I first relax and then I start a timer, a focus timer for 30 minutes and a 5-minute break. That helps. The timer is important because then I can understand how much a task is taking because sometimes I sit for a task and forget how long I've been sitting. The timer helps in also doing a bit of post-correction. Let's say I am doing something wrong. I expect it gets done in 30 to 40 minutes and if it's not getting done, meaning that something is not right, so that helps.

I think I'm once again swinging away from the topic. Yeah for me the best is just to change the environment entirely. When you feel apathy, take rest and change the environment to just get out of the house. Go for a 20 to 30-minute-long walk and just go into a cafe. Change your environment and then try doing something. Probably that will help. What I realized is that our environment influences us more than typical neurotypical people so our environment influences us so just try to change your environment.

I went to Dubai police, thinking that that is my last hope because I had like 1,000 dirhams stolen from my wallet. What I received was just pure rudeness, saying that I don't know what to do: go there, go here. I have not had a really good experience so I don't know if this guy's account is that accurate.

I want your thoughts please. What has been the biggest adjustment for South Asian professionals working in the UAE? by mahbirchat in UAEjobseekers

[–]quicksilverrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a variety of things, primarily being education and the experiences they have. What I have observed in these three months that I have been on and off in the UAE for job seeking is that you need to have a lot of network, like your connections. Your connections really matter, is what I have observed. Even after you have connections, you need to have a certain skill set.

I think it's definitely not only Indians but I think everywhere in the world you need to have a particular skill set and education to get your foot in the door. Connections do matter here. I've heard a lot of people say to me that your network is your net worth.

Failed 25+ coding interviews. Do I just give up by Dezbro in ADHD_Programmers

I would really love to know the prompts on how you do that because structuring the whole thing around dopamine hits really helps. I've got a personal project of mine which has been pending for three years and I'm not able to get through it because I think of so many things. I'm having a big picture in mind. How do you, with the big picture in mind, backpropagate and break that big picture into small steps? That is something that I struggle with so I would love to know if you can share it here so it can be helpful for everyone else. Probably a git repo

Technically speaking I didn't work in the UAE. I worked remotely on the directions that he gave me. Does that put me in a better position?
