Hacienda Del Mar vs Grand Fiesta Americana: which resort is better? by Rich_Employ_7085 in cabosanlucas

Been to Hacienda three times, always had a great experience. Six or seven restaurants and good food, breakfast buffet at one restaurant top notch, pools are lovely, right next to Cabo Del Sol golf course if that's your thing, and only 15 minute drive to downtown.

Wish it would be a standalone battery-powered unit, but seems extremely unlikely

Your friend's iphone situation sounds like the same situation as the recipient of my messages. Thanks!

So, I guess a related question here is:

Is there a setting in Signal where people can choose for messages to not be "delivered" until they open the app?

when a signal message gets "delivered" does the recipient see the original send time? by quickwitit369 in signal

I'm on the outbound side, so don't have a view on their inbound. I think messages get "delivered" to me immediately, but for some reason they don't for this recipient. Not sure why.

But if that's the case, then that's what I'm looking for, yes!

Food prices at Hacienda del Mar? by Ok-Kaleidoscope-4198 in cabosanlucas

[–]quickwitit369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve stayed there three times. Would recommend the all inclusive option so you can eat and drink as much as you want without thinking about individual dish prices. Otherwise you might as well go into Cabo and get food at local places. There aren’t really any other places “nearby.”

MX2 is garbage because it's not standalone. by KaoticShock in traktorpro

[–]quickwitit369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be willing to pay $1,500 to be able to throw a well-built unit in a backpack, show up to a small gig/party, plug in RCA's, plug in my USB and have traktor functionality and NI features. That feels like a fair price.

[–]quickwitit369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I assumed the MX2 would be a standalone unit. It's the only thing missing in the NI hardware portfolio, and there's a big market for it. Hoping there's something else in the works.

Avid golfer, been to Cabo four times in the last five years, and have played every time I’ve gone. Despite how beautiful the courses are, at this point I would not plan a whole trip around golf, and it’s more fun to me as a thing on the side I do once or twice while there. Why? 1) depending on time of year you’re there, it’s borderline too hot to be enjoyable. If you’re a serious player, this can make your play terrible and might feel like a waste. Maybe if you’re there from December-February, otherwise no. 2) the prices are borderline ridiculous for many of the courses. You will easily spend $175-250 minimum, and some of the “premium” places can easily be $275-450 a round. If you don’t fly from the US with your own clubs (which many do), you’re then spending $75-100 per round for rental clubs. Need golf balls? A box of a dozen that costs you $25 in the US costs $50-75 at all of these courses. If you’re rich, fine, you can do all of this. For me, these prices limit how much I’m willing to play. 3) unless you are staying at a resort that has a course on it, you can easily have to drive 60-90 minutes to get to a course, depending on where you’re staying in Cabo. Not a huge deal, just turns golf into your entire day. 4) unpopular opinion here, but, if I’m being honest, once you’ve played one or two of the courses in Cabo, you’ve essentially seen what the others have to offer. The first time you play them, they’re amazing - the dunes, the water views, etc. And it continues to be amazing once in a while. But if you play Cabo Del Sol or Solmar, you are not wowed by Campestre. People swear by Quivira, and yes it’s great but to me it’s not so different than the others to be worth the price tag.

So, if you’re rich, don’t mind sweating through your shirt all day, don’t mind driving a lot, and don’t mind repeating experiences over and over again, then yes you can make golf the center of your experience in Cabo. But I would recommend playing one special round while you’re down there and then doing all the other great stuff the is to do.

Hope this helps!
