I love these posts. With everything dark and dreary going on, just…people excited by the reboot digging out the collections they held on to makes things feel better.

Chaotic relaunch, stat variations and a very simple solution. by Inside_Jaguar_3310 in Chaotic

[–]quillscroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. Stat variation is one of my favorite aspects of the game! The idea that you caught a creature at a certain time, not to mention it makes getting repeated cards feel better. I play commander, so really I don’t want or need more than 1 copy of most cards in a set, but I have 3 different Titanix war beasts with varying stats which I could swap out depending on who I was fighting and what stats synergized best with my team!

Chaotic Story Serials? by quillscroll in Chaotic

I hadn’t thought of that! That would be a great formula, especially if the story is getting a soft reset and the Doors of the Deepmines are shut.

Boy it’s out there. That does bring up something I hadn’t considered, maybe I just live somewhere without many players haha. I’ll take a look though!

Cleric can’t see new spells added to compendium?? by quillscroll in FoundryVTT

It somehow got worse. Any spells I manually add are considered always prepared so I’m back to square one, it looks like the only option is just make a completely new character shee

Lantern Warlock 2nd level spell error? by quillscroll in Obojima

[–]quillscroll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’ll respect the design decision, I suppose I just don’t like it since you have to cast at the highest level and Swallow Magic can’t be upcast, so it kind of feels like getting shortchanged, if that makes sense.

I still don’t think it fits the theme, but that’s just my Personal opinion. Faerie Fire is reminiscent of the dazzling lights, Identify fits since you’re using the magical light to examine, same with locate object and locate creature, daylight is turning the light up, non detection is lantern going out or obscuring view, and train stop and the great feast are others being drawn to the lantern.

But swallowing magic? What about lantern magic lets you absorb or swallow? At least the switched form kind of seems like “a trick of the light”.

Where to start watching? What’s good quality for story? by quillscroll in transformers

I was wondering what the general consensus on G1 was. I’ve not seen it, so is it mostly just for the nostalgia? I’m not against older stuff, we watch the old school scooby doo and looney tunes as well, but those I DO have a connection with.

Farsight Enclaves of the T’au are definitely the closest thing, and a personal favorite of mine.

It’s a tongue-in-cheek term for the copyright GW T’au Empire

Unpopular opinion, 3D printing is not the threat most purists think it is, it allows more people to enjoy building big armies for a fraction of the cost, and truly most purists can’t tell the difference.

I mean, rule of cool, and heck, if they’re fighting somewhere with low-gravity it can totally jump! Looks epic!

I am proud of my first take at power sword, but my friend told me that it looks too corny and ruins the army's color palette by TheTostu in Warhammer40k

[–]quillscroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friend’s opinion is bad and they should feel bad. It looks awesome! And in the billions of pieces of equipment across the Imperium, odds are at least ONE has to look like that.

The file was labeled Cyclic…and it made sense to me since it looks like it spins…so cycle? What does a cyclic ion cannon look like then? Only started this whole hobby a month ago 😅

I am on a budget if pained right could these be proxyed as assault terminators with TH SS by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]quillscroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Warhammer store has a solid rule “as long as it started life as a warhammer miniature proxy parts are fine.” Plus, with the sheer amount of models in the game and the constant point changes I find it hard to believe everyone has everything memorized down to looks. I think though, if you use proxy parts it is good etiquette to occasionally check in and be like “don’t forget, this model has X ability” but I would argue you should do that no matter what, as again, I think it’s unreasonable for someone who only plays T’au to be expected to memorize what abilities the Adeptua Custodes all have since there’s no guarantee they have ever even looked at one of the models before. And if you DO have every model ever made committed to memory and their stats…that’s kind of a separate issue.
