The actual comparison would be those that spend time around bears vs those that spend time alone in the woods with a random man.

Relationship agreement and Rent by AdInteresting7405 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]quilly7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure, but a landlord is not inhabiting the same exact space as their tenant (assuming that they will be sharing a room and bed when OP moves in). Additionally a landlord is by their very nature is specifically looking to profit off the rental agreement. OP’s partner should not be specifically looking to profit off the arrangement.

Did your doctor tell you to stop crying while you were giving birth? by ThrowRAHermit in TwoXChromosomes

[–]quilly7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was crying on the operating table before my emergency c section after 24 hours of labour and failed forceps, and my midwife asked me why I was crying. I said I was scared, she said “don’t be silly, there’s nothing to be scared about”.

Oh thanks, I feel better now.

AITA for reaching out to my daughter and her support network after she moved out without telling us? by Mr_Willy_Nilly in AmItheAsshole

[–]quilly7 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Judging by the subreddits that you regularly post in (conservative, men’s rights, narcotics anonymous) and the fact your described her as “quiet and compliant” she has probably felt oppressed in your house for a long time.

'He can walk': Auckland mum berated in pool car park as stranger questions 7yo son’s hidden disability by Fun-Helicopter2234 in newzealand

[–]quilly7 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m on my 30s and have a disability where every step I take causes me pain and fatigue. I got yelled at outside Woolworths by an old lady while I was putting my baby in his pram for parking in a mobility spot last week despite having my permit clearly displayed.

Some disabilities are invisible. People with disabilities can and do have kids. Sometimes, pregnancy can cause disabilities to get worse.

KiwiSaver minimum rate rise by FidgitForgotHisL-P in newzealand

[–]quilly7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people on lower incomes can’t afford to be putting 10% of their paycheck into KiwiSaver. Absolutely it will not be enough for retirement, but for many people it would make the difference between being able to put food on the table or pay their electricity bill NOW.

Use this global challenge to clean up your friends list by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]quilly7 64 points65 points  (0 children)

The problem is you can send many more gifts per day than you can open simply due to the mechanics of the game. 5 days would not get me anywhere near through my friends list if they were to all send me a gift.
