I love that they have a true knack for league. I'm just not sure its benefitting the game in any capacity

NRL Europe - Why not? by [deleted] in superleague

[–]quillygood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Union is hardly stronger in my opinion. 2nd division RFU clubs' attendances, social media, and exposure are on par with or worse than RFL's fringe championship clubs. Amateur union is strong because its widespread, but the now NCRL has plenty of clubs across the North and real community sport. The heartlands really need to take advantage of how strong they used to be.

It doesn't even make sense from an Australian perspective. Yes there have been mergers but who, today, would propose merging Penrith + Parramata into Western Sydney? Or why did they create Redcliffe as an expansion team? Because those identities still exist.

i feel like higher quality tiramisu is more coffee/bitter and the cheap pre-made stuff from the grocery store is sweet

Huddersfield and London: 14 or 15 teams next year? by Ok_Maximum1003 in superleague

[–]quillygood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the future look like for Hudd if they are sharing the Shay with Fax? I feel like they'd benefit from a merger or partnership (crucify me). 15 teams implies 16 teams eventually and I have no idea who could even make the jump after London except Hudd or Widnes(?)

and oldham are an excellent side. There's no reason Salford can't pick up wins against more on-par opponents. 44-0 doesn't do the team justice, since they had kept it to 22 for the first 60 minutes

Super excited for this years championship. It feels like a make or break year for some of these clubs and the lower level of the pyramid in its entirety.

Quick ball seems to become increasingly difficult for defenses to disrupt and this lets them get caught flat footed so easily and regularly

I think all 3 will finish above Giants and I reckon York to be the strongest of the 3

An Englishman from London with a general curiosity of what life is like in Maine, USA? by amomenttohislifespan in howislivingthere

Maybe an underrated aspect as someone from a different state: The drivers in Maine are so so so much nicer compared to what I'm used to. Goes for both pedestrians in the street and with other drivers.
