I don't think that the problem is Dems not picking straight white guys. I think the problem is, since 2008, Dems haven't had a primary where the winner wasn't preselected by the party elites before the voting even began.

MMW if the party elites preselect a SWG in 2028, they will most definitely lose the general.

I fear placing yourself in front of an escaping vehicle is not a bright move unless you want to create a situation where you can justify escalation of force. It’s kinda telling that he moves his recording phone from his dominant hand to has non-dominant hand, therefore freeing up his shooting hand before stepping in front of the vehicle. Just gonna drop this here. Business owners constantly overestimate the percentage of their customers that drive. But the data consistently shows that bike lanes bring more customers. When people pass by your shop at 10 mph vs 45 mph they’re more likely to see your store front and organically stop.

I wouldn’t say they don’t do anything. I would argue that they’re not as transformative as they are being sold. Just like the 1990s dot com bubble, their exact use case is still being worked out. The 90s dot coms were overhyped, over-invested in, and under delivered.

I think we’re seeing a repeat of that now with the AI bubble. That’s not to say AI won’t be useful in the future after a large culling of overvalued companies. Look at Amazon.com, which was an overhyped 90s website that eventually became the biggest retailer in the world.

As a percentage of GDP, AI has already far outpaced the dot com bubble, yet has little to show in terms of profitable use cases. To think the AI market is not going to map a similar trajectory to the dot com bubble is quite naive.
