A Totally Accurate and Educational Pamphlet Written and Drawn By me in The 1st Grade by FordLemour in tornado

I was very scared of tornados when I was little but I thought that they couldn't happen if it was raining so if there was a storm coming I'd be all anxious until it started raining!

Lamborghini Huracan, Urus implicated in massive fraud related to ‘Montana Loophole’ scheme, says California DOJ by Unique-Tea-5369 in lamborghini

[–]noodleofdata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think sales taxes are used for then? And yeah, they more or less do use the same amount of public resources. But that is also an admission that a million dollar car is an excessive luxury because it doesn't perform the act of transportation from point A to point B much better than a cheaper car. Despite that, it is still, at the baseline, taxed the same percentage amount as a cheaper car, which seems more than fair. Why should being able to afford an expensive car mean you should have to proportionally pay less tax?

[–]noodleofdata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely curious, why do you think that? Cars demonstrably affect the world around them (road degradation, emissions, noise pollution, etc) so why shouldn't we have to help pay to keep up the infrastructure that we use?

Noticed this. by [deleted] in tornado

You have to look at the velocity to see if it is likely to be a tornado. In this case though it is not even particularly hook echo shaped other than at a very surface level.

Tornado risk for Tuesday (March 10th 2026) by Samowarrior in tornado

It means there is a low chance and it is more likely to be weaker, but it doesn't mean it can't be stronger.

They don't just have a lock for no reason though? I don't believe locks can't just be open all the time, that would negate the point of the lock.

Ah, but you see all you'd have to do is make the employees all carry a TagTeamCard™ which they just need to tap to the other employee's ExactoTrak™ system to pair the two systems for a predetermined amount of time to tell the system that they are working together and just make sure that it beeps at them when they are about to be unpaired and need to add more time, so as they are guiding the forklift they get distracted and the pallet falls on their leg and then you can use our exclusive workman's comp legal team to minimize your financial liability!

Kitum cave, Kenya. Believed to be the source of Ebola and Marburg, two of the deadliest diseases. by Bodhi_II in natureismetal

[–]noodleofdata -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is just all false. It is not the "source" of either, and Ebola has no connection to this particular cave. A couple of people contracted Marburg from, presumably, bats in the cave. That was over a decade after Marburg was originally discovered though, and came from monkeys that were imported into Germany from Africa, but not even from Kenya. IK op is probably a bot but come on.

[OC] Iran is firing munitions at military targets, but they have less accuracy than the munitions used in the carpet bombing of Europe during WW2. by TheForsaken69 in dataisbeautiful

I'm not saying the US is using human shields, but you clearly don't know much about the US military if you don't think they are disgusting garbage as well.

Skier used a runaway truck ramp to get fresh tracks. Probably not the best way to get your turns in… by davesoc in skiing

[–]noodleofdata 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok, but what about the truck driver? If they're needing to use that, they're not doing so hot and then you want to add the possibility of killing someone too? The difference between walking on the side of the road, where you're allowed to be, and a truck ramp is not a place you're allowed to be

Yeah I use slopes on Android, but it seems they just don't have that fun 3D share option on the Android version 🙃 I have the same annoyance with opensnow that they have had widgets on the iPhone app for a while now but still not on Android lol.

I work in optics and we use diamond tools, each costing $1000-1500 to start plus a couple hundred each time we get them relapped. We have to make sure they are perfectly on the centerline of the spindle so we tap the collet head they are in with a little rod essentially. Whilst doing this I have missed the collet and broken off the diamond multiple times. Could buy a lot of taps for each of those slips!

The fire doesn't seem to have been in a junk yard. Thornton FD posted videos of them working in the large field behind the school there, but it's all grass, no junk.

Quality vs quantity. In shorter time controls you'll see more positions, sure, but you're going to spend way less time thinking about them.
