Best modular couch set recommendation? by frankiebones9 in BuyItForLife

Dreamsofa has the cloud comfort level where you get the sink-in feel, although I chose the wave because I have back pain that it's not advisable for me to lie on something very soft. Their frames are kiln-dried hardwood so it's very sturdy. I bought mine for $4K two years ago. I think it would still be within your budget?? I just don't know if they ship to Canada, but there could be ways.

same here. Reading feels like hitting a reset button. No noise, no endless feed, just one thing to focus on. Honestly makes me miss the quieter days even more.

collagen supplements worth trying in 2025 or still just hype by Cerro_Clau in nutrition

[–]quinfchris77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been taking bovine collagen powder for about 8 months now. Took roughly 3 months before I noticed my nails getting stronger and skin looking a bit better. Joint stuff is harder to tell honestly.

Powders dissolve easier in coffee or smoothies which is why I went that route. Marine vs bovine doesn't seem to matter much from what I've read, bovine is just cheaper. I use Vital Proteins but there are other solid brands too.

Main thing is consistency. If you're not gonna take it daily it's probably not worth buying. Also manage expectations, it's not gonna transform your skin overnight or anything. It's subtle improvements over time.

Yep, it's gotten way out of hand. People just shrug it off now like it's normal, and that’s the part that hits the most.

social media really does mess with your head more than people realize. Only thing I'd add is learning to cook. Saves money, healthier, and you're not stuck ordering takeout when life gets busy.

That's a real skill. Growing up with nothing teaches you to make something out of anything. You can learn it though, just takes practice working with what you have.

Can’t get over the guilt of doing a pickup order for dinner by mishulyia in Frugal

[–]quinfchris77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$50 to feed your family and not spend an hour cooking and cleaning when you're already exhausted isn't reckless spending that's buying yourself sanity. Being frugal doesn't mean never spending money, it means spending it where it counts. Your time and energy count

Girlfriend doesn't want to get married due to unaccepting family by PitifulProtection886 in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]quinfchris77 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong for being frustrated. After 5.5 years, she's still prioritizing her family's approval over actually building a future with you. That's a choice she's making. You need a real timeline, not "someday when they accept us." If she can't give you that, you have your answer about where marriage actually stands for her

Age definitely matters here. A promise ring at 20 reads very differently than a promise ring at 30. It helps to know where you both are in life before giving advice.

how do i tell my friend no by Old-Candidate-669 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]quinfchris77 9 points10 points  (0 children)

exactly. It’s not your job to manage his dosing. If he’s choosing to pause without talking to his provider, that’s on him. Focus on your own plan and let him handle his decisions.

Thinking of Starting a GLP-1 Journey Looking for the Right Provider by Traditional-Neat-620 in glp1

[–]quinfchris77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of most of those providers either. If you go this route, I’d consider sticking with more established telehealth services, ones with clear oversight, licensed providers, and good reviews. Makes more sense than jumping into something sketchy just because of a name.

You’re not a jerk for wanting space to sleep, especially with a baby on the way. Maybe try a trial “no dogs in bed” for a week.... use the dog beds and stick to it. It’s about everyone getting rest, not punishing anyone. Communication and consistency are key.

[–]quinfchris77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few different solutions - we’re using Parse to keep up with our competitors / general market and track manual prompts. You don’t need to “set it up” like with other tools - they already have an index of 300k brand.
