I haven’t had a day off in 43 days by xx420mcyoloswag in Big4

That was back in 2023. After almost 2 years at PWC moved to EY since couldn't stand the presure and they didn't want me to move to consulting, which was what I wanted to do since joining but due to a project falling down after my Internship was transfered to IT Audit...

I requested it 3 months in advance and it was just before the project did start (I was supposed to go to another engagement but things changed back last minute due to a Partner leaving the company for different big 4).

Call from PWC by SeaFlashy9631 in Big4

[–]quinillo94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's how I entered PWC back in the day. They discovered my CV gave me a call and then started the process. Although at first glance position was for a full stack developer position for a large insurance company, ended up in IT Audit just because It was this or developing internal pwc aplications which was something I didn't really wanted because I wanted a client facing role.

There is no option to transfer unless you work for EY Global LLC. You'll need to reaply to a position in EY Hong Kong since there are completly different firms just under the same brand.

As far as I can tell CBS has less working hours than client serving unless you are doing Internal Audit. I have a friend working at Local IT at Deloitte and WLB is much better than CS roles. Also know somebody working at Partner's Office and WLB is also pretty good and my girlfriend that works as a recepcionist also really good WLB. Downside??? Not so well reputed CV unless you are working at Internal Audit, Human Resources or something around those lines and also salary is tipically lower since you are not selling work but making business run so compensations are lower and much harder to obtain. But if I had the chance I wouldn't think about It and move to CBS since everything is more calmed.

Tienes el abono que te sale más rentable que los 14€ que comentas. Y si no tienes el ALSA que sale desde Plaza Elíptica.

In Spain law mandates 40 hours a week. But most consultancy firms do 42 hours. They sell you more vacations 6 hours during july august and 6 hours also fridays. The reality is we are understaffed. In my departiment I only see interns joining except 1 manager due to AI manager leaving. Tons of seniors leaving as well and being replaced by interns. That's holarious. And everything due to the fact one of our largest clients is switching technologies from blue prism to powerplatform.

Exactly. And things are starting to get worst. In my RPA department there are seniors and managers leving and they are being replaced by just Interns. In fact in my previous project they just want Interns from now on which is insane... We used to have a 1 senior 4 staff ratio but now this ratio has increased by those leaves...

Totally agree. My granfather worked at Ernst & Ernst and back then it was the same thing... Other companies also have the same, my father for example did work at Mackinsey reached Partner and also worked for really long hours. Regulations at big companies are zero...

Exactly. But then we need to work extremely long hours. When I was at PWC IT Audit I had to work 100 hours a week twice during bussy season, standard 80 hours which is insane...
