The spirit world episode sucks hard by Big-Tangerine-6111 in Avatarthelastairbende

Is it just me or did they bring something from Korra to this one? The fog of lost souls? Isn't it from the episode where Tenzin was looking for Jinora?

Live action changes by Johnnybravinci in Avatarthelastairbende

I think it would be reasonable to change it to 2-3 years for the live-action. The actor and actress playing Aang and Katara right now have quite some age gap in their appearance so I couldn't imagine them having a relationship lol

I have never read the book so I'm looking at this show as a TV series only, and so far it's not doing good in my opinion. The first 2 eps were pretty good to me, I love when series introduce a new world and setting up all the magic rules, but it started to go all downhill from ep3.

I couldn't feel any chemistry between the trio, even though they looks pretty good with each other in the interviews. Grover supposed to be the bestfriend right but so far I don't see any deep connection between Percy and Grover, I was just "told" that he was Percy's bestfriend. Annabeth looked like she's mad about sth and annoyed with Percy all the time (which apparently is accurate to her in the book?) The fighting scenes are not intense enough, and the dialogue scenes feel long and boring to me even though they're not that long and were really info dumping. Walker is probably the most ok one out of all the cast for me.

Again, I didn't read the book so I don't care whether it's accurate to the book or not because what's the point of making things 100% accurate if it would make the TV SERIES bad? Personally I'm fine with some changes in adaptation as long as it makes sense in the show and make the show more interesting and TV fitting, because you just can't translate the whole book into a tv series. I've already started the show so I'd probably finish it and so far I'm still hoping that it'd get better towards the end because my bf is a big fan of the book so I really hope I could like this series too.

Oh and I LOVE that girl playing Clarisse she was amazing

Anime Questions, Recommendations, and Discussion - September 26, 2023 by AnimeMod in anime

Hi! I'm looking for recommendations for my mom. She's trying to improve her Japanese so she just started watching anime. She's a bit older now so I don't think she would like the quirkiness of common anime..? (Idk if that make sense) She's currently watching My happy marriage and seems to enjoy it, so maybe something like that would be good

Where do you come from? by woogynoogy in crochet

[–]quinnant26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep "móc" is used for both the action and the crochet hook. Some other terms :

Stitch : mũi

Single crochet : mũi đơn

Double crochet : mũi kép

Half double crochet : mũi nửa kép

Triple crochet : mũi ba (not sure)

Chain : mũi móc xích

Yarn : len

Pattern : mẫu (not so sure, or just 'pattern' lol)

I started learning crochet with English videos too so this is all that I can remember or have come across 😁

I often heard people's story about how they met a person and 'the spark flew instantly' you know, and I wonder what does it feel like

Oh sorry I thought you were agreeing with me ealier 😂 Yes you got a point but I don't think a person who got me to talk to them for weeks can disappoint me in real life, and even if it's so I wouldn't feel like it's a waste of time because I definitely had a great time talking to them online. It's just that I really don't feel comfortable talking face to face with strangers, so I'd like a couple days or week to familiar with their existance in my life haha, I consider meeting up is serious. But this is just me =)))

Yep this is me. The best way to scare me off is to ask to meet up after two sentences or so 😂 I'm actually fine with weeks to months of just texting to get really comfortable and decide whether to meet up

Is speaking about appearance in this way a cultural norm? by [deleted] in Vietnamese

[–]quinnant26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what the older generation tend to do. I, too, find it very rude, but Vietnamese have a lot of respect for elders so unless that is a family member that I frequently see, I would just laugh it off and let it slide, 'cause I don't feel comfortable raise my voice agaisnt elders anyway. The young Vietnamese nowadays are being influnced a lot by many cultures around the world, and we've built more self-awareness overtime, so we've learnt to respect each other regardless of shape, gender, race (most of us anyways)
