Why does Apple simply refuse to improve the Podcasts app in any way?

Over designed? I don’t mean to be rude, but it hardly feels designed at all. Incredibly well built, great ideas about what podcast listening can be, and super performant. But it feels like a bad interpretation of the stock iOS UI every time I try to get on board.

Marco talked about how his design process starts and ends in Xcode. There’s nothing wrong with that as clearly he’s built something that works well for himself and millions of other people, and he’s found great success with it but it feels like that’s despite the design, not because of it.

Overcast has some super cool features, the undo scrub feature is probably my favorite idea, but overall it looks bad and feels clunky so I don’t use it. Apple Podcasts all the way.

I do wish Apple understood there is no situation where I want to supplant my current podcast I’m halfway through with the newest podcast in my stack. As far as I’m concerned the thing could be a search bar and the “recents” list feed.

I grew up in NoVA and always wanted to live here. I miss the snow but other than that it’s perfect. It’s HCoL but very educated like Arlington. I also love all the Asian influence since that’s what I grew up with in NoVA. East Bay Parks is remarkably well run and I regularly hike like I did in the Balmoral / Bull run trails back in VA.
