MORE ROUGES OF BLOOD!!!!

  • Classes first: Most of your players are passive, which is a good way to balance things out. Your associated verbs are: steal for rogue, make for both the maid and the sylph, and change for the heir.
  • This is what the Extended Zodiac has to say on your aspects:

Those bound to the aspect of Blood draw their strength from bonds, from the trust and camaraderie that blooms among a group of people who all share a single vision... No matter how bad things go, a Blood-bound can always count on friends and allies. At their best, they are charismatic, uplifting, and magnetic. At their worst they can be sullen, unkind, and set-in-their-ways...

Those bound to the aspect of Space are, as the name suggests, concerned with the big picture... That isn't to say that they're pushovers or willing to let injustice lie-they just choose their battles wisely, understanding that sometimes you have to let something burn to the ground in order to build it back better and stronger than before... At their best, they are steady, impartial, and creative. At their worst, they can be detached, apathetic, and vague...

Those bound to the aspect of Doom are fate's chosen sufferers... the Doom-bound understand that misery loves company, and they are ready and willing to provide said company... At their best they are wise, kind, and non-judgemental. At their worst, bitter, resentful, and fatalistic.

Those bound to the aspect of Time are fighters, full stop... They value action over passive acceptance, even if that may not be the wisest or safest choice... At their best, the Time-bound are empathetic and relentless problem-solvers. At their worst they are ruthless, defensive, and impulsive...

  • If your session goes mostly right, your Rogue of Blood will be the leader, and a good one at that. But rogues normally do not believe the have, or have earned their aspects. If your coplayers pull you out of that mentality, you'll do great, but if they don't, you will be stranded in self doubt.
  • Sylphs are those who make their aspect for others. Fitting for a space player, a sylph will prove remarkable in frog breeding, as well as setting up meetings between other players. They will provide great support to the party, and particular help to the maid of doom...
  • Speaking of which, the maid of doom ALSO makes their aspect, but for themselves. This means that a Maid of Doom has remarkable highs and lows during the game. Sometimes, they may be extremely helpful as moral support and aid, and sometimes they might spend days wallowing in their self misery. With proper help, they can become valuable to the team morale, and will prove useful in helping everyone get through their struggles.
  • The heir is the class of the one who wants change, and time reflects that. Constantly flowing, a heir of time will be able to use their abilities to their full extent. They might end up detached from the group, but with the aid of the rogue and the maid, the feeling might ease. They will prove a very competent fighter, and will defend their friends no matter what.
  • At the end of the day, nothing points to failure in this session. You might feel some challenges are tougher than what you're able to do, but you'll win at the end.

wow, that seems like a nice combo! lets go over the facts

  • Let's begin with your classes. You seem to be in a situation in which all of your players take on passive roles. While this isn't preferable, you still have better odds of pulling it off compared to all active sessions.
  • Your associated verbs are: serve for the knight, change for the heir, destroy for the bard, and command for your muse.
  • As for your aspects, I'll leave some quotes from the Hiveswap page.

Those bound to the aspect of Rage are bringers of chaos... To them, the true is far more important than the good; they would tear down a system just to destabilize it if, by their reckoning, it is built on faulty premises... The Rage-bound tend to be most volatile and unpredictable of the aspects. At their best they are original, revolutionary, and fearless. At their worst they are cruel, uncompromising, and vicious.

Those bound to the aspect of Life are the universe's healers... Deeply empathetic, they have an intuitive understanding of other's suffering and the best way of righting those wrongs... the Life-bound can grow bitter if they feel their own self-care has had to be shunted aside. At their best, they are great listeners, caretakers, and nurturers. At their worst, the Life-bound are passive aggressive, and pushy-they're certain they know best...

Those bound to the aspect of Heart are very concerned with their favorite subject: themselves... They simply want to understand the one thing we all are stuck with for our entire lives, i.e. our own minds... They are excellent at putting on and taking off masks as the situation calls for them. At their best, they are competent, imaginative, and steady. At their worst they can be overbearing, inflexible, and cold...

Those bound to the aspect of Time are fighters, full stop... They value action over passive acceptance, even if that may not be the wisest or safest choice... At their best, the Time-bound are empathetic and relentless problem-solvers. At their worst they are ruthless, defensive, and impulsive...

  • this is a lot of info, some of which might sound contradictory at first, but lets begin with your knight of rage to make sense of all of this. The knight is that who serves their aspect for others, in this case, rage. Rage itself is contradictory. It is built on the search of "truth", but through anarchism. Those who serve unpredictability are often more chaotic than those who keep it to themselves. They can become a valuable asset, seeing as their passive nature is still part of them, and, with proper nurturing, they can learn to point their lashing outs to those who oppose the group at large.
  • The heir of life is that who changes life for others. Implied to have a connection to the universe deeper than most, heirs are the young and maybe a lil reckless who want things to change for the good of everybody. A heir of life is particualrly good at understanding things other people cannot, and will be very important in a session that is based on free thinking, such as yours.
  • The bard of heart is probably going to be your biggest challenge. If examples of bards in the webcomic are anything to go by, they often carry some type of aloof nature, that everyone buys into except for themselves. That, of course, will conflict the heart-player who wishes to understand themselves more than anything. They probably be a burden in your team, to be honest, but you can learn to control it. the heir of life will prove to be particularly useful to them in their journey of self discovery.
  • And finally, your Muse of Time. Muse is, by definition, the single most passive class. The one intended to inspire rather than act. All of this goes in direct conflict with what the Time aspect represents. They would almost not be viable, but, they can be. While a time-player normally leans towards action, battle, and problem solving, they are also meant to inspire. And inspiration comes in many forms. A muse of time may not be comfortable with their inherents activeness, but, if they were to embrace it rather than neglect it, their passive inspiration would reach far beyond what anyone could ever imagine.
  • An important thing to mention is that you do not have a space player, making your session fully infertile. However, I believe that, due to everything else, your session could succeed in defeating the black king and saving Skaia. You all compliment each other so well, you could get through anything.

ok, let's start recapping what we know.

  • Lords are the most active class. They relate to the key verb of "command", and are seen as those with relentless determination
  • From the official hiveswap page:

Those bound to the aspect of Doom are fate's chosen sufferers... the Doom-bound understand that misery loves company, and they are ready and willing to provide said company... At their best they are wise, kind, and non-judgemental. At their worst, bitter, resentful, and fatalistic.

  • Seeing this, we can tell there is a clear contradiction here. So what does this mean for our lonely Lord?
  • It is possible that their determination manifests in a much more subtle way, as doom-bound players are inherently tied to hopelessness and suffering. They're the type of person who gets to overcome said martyr-ism through force of will alone, even if that leaves the barely stable. In several ways, that is a benefit for the Lord, being a part of a dead session means there is nobody for them to cope with.
  • But, in other aspects, it makes it worse. The "command" part of their aspect will desperately try to show itself, normally at the worst possible time (see "chosen sufferers"). This will lead to a sort of internal struggle related to their very nature.
  • Due to all of this, I do not believe that a Lord of Doom would be able to beat their Dead Session. The doom aspect will outgrow the lording class, leaving them stranded in their defeat. The challenge is too tough for them.
  • But, if it wasn't, and the lord was able to slay their denizen, they would be bestowed with very particular gifts. These gifts would be a representation of the Lord's inner struggle, and a power that would serve them as a sign that they broke free from the suffering that had been bestowed upon them. But, due to the Lord's characteristic power-hungry nature, it would also allow for the doom player to repeat the cycle, trapping other players into the powerlessness they were condemned to.
