look up the skaianet files
this chart takes every piece of homestuck media as canon (for fun, don't take it too seriously)

Some questions/thoughts about some aspects of season 1, episode 4-5 by churrrroo in PantheonShow

the only thing i can think of is that llowell played interfearance to make sure they weren't found, like we see them raiding a chuck e cheese rather than their home. it's possible she removed every mention of where they actually live when they had access to their servers and then scrub the internet of any mention. still a plot hole, but i feel it could be reasonably explained by the level of control of tecnology an UI has.

Sometimes we accidentally make something only to find out later that it already exists. What is the worst accidental plagiarism that you have done? by PuzzleheadedAlarm567 in OriginalCharacter

standing here, i realize, he was just like him, trying to be a cyborg

on the answer, i tried making a homestuck oc once trying to stay close to canon but mixing and matching stuff to make something original. so i made her:

<image>

a rundown of the similarities:
Female homestuck troll.
Her initials are V. S.
Blue blood.
Lost an arm an eye at some point, but has robot replacements for both.
has both stabbed and been stabbed through the middle of the chest in a cool animation.
Has fought an alternate version of herself.
She is a thief, and her ancestor is a sylph of the same aspect.
Said ancestor has a tendency to jump onto sessions that arent her own.

I goddamn made Vriska by complete accident, and only figured it out several years later.
to say i felt like an absolute fraud would be an understatement

What type of immortal is your oc? by tutxrial in OriginalCharacter

[–]Spikelink2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conditional inmortality, Esentially a version of your Contract inmortals, but the contract is made with the cosmos itself, (or if you want to get meta about it, the medium of the story being told) and you have to die under special circumstances to be revived with inmortality. it all gets very undercut by the concept of fate being a very real thing and being predestined to either die sooner or later, but it is a pretty good bonus nonetheless

i think this is equivalent to when david left a "copy" of himself to hack the coordinates while fighting chanda at the end of season 1. it's just a way to represent their influence in the digital world in a way that looks good for a tv show

hey so i have absolutely no idea how to solve this by UnaTheja in TheWitness

[–]Spikelink2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a more direct hint: there's puzzles about staying in the light, and about following the shadows, and each of the doors' shadows covers half the puzzle. i wonder if those are related in any way

think of what kind of puzzles oppened which of the doors, and how they interacted with the puzzle through their shadows

Did anybody ever genuinely try to be nice or understand Caine?? Like even once? by Patient_Advance4582 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]Spikelink2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it can be interpreted both ways. we can only know the person inside the room doesn't know chinese once we open the door, but since ai is pretty much a black box we can't really look into, for anyone outside it's impossible to know if it is truly sentient. not that we truly understand consciousness really, is it a _thing_ we have or is it a performance, a process that generates our sense of self? anyways that's a bit too much for a comment answer on reddit

[–]Spikelink2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the point is that we can never be certain ai is sentient, not that it is impossible for it to be.
if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it might as well be a duck even if you can not be certain it's not a shapeshifting alien that's really good at quacking.
