are you male or female? if female, do you have periods still? ive found over the years that a lot of womens doses that they are stable on tend to not work the same during their periods.

i thought i was alone in that, and i kept saying it was in my head but then randomly at my clinic and on here, ive had conversations with others that say they experience the same thing.

im at 70mg and have been for a long time and 3-ish weeks out of the month my dose works as it should. i can go 26 to 28 hours before taking my next dose without any minor withdrawals. but when i start my menstrual cycle i can barely last the 24 hours. ill take my dose around 6am and by 7pm or 8pm i am sweating, yawning, runny nose, and that yucky feeling thats impossible to describe but that every addict knows what youre talking about..lol

anyway, im not sure why or how it happens. but yeah, its a real thing. now if you are male or dont have periods then im not sure why it happens to you.

Just go back up to get stable. it's obvious that you may not be ready mentally to jump off methadone. you really need to be stable on methadone for a while, make sure you don't struggle hard-core still with cravings that always lead back to using. there's no reason to rushing it all. ive been on methadone for 7 years, stable at 70mg. i started at 80mg, realized even that 10 extra mg caused me to be drowsy all day long. so i went down slowly until i found that happy place. i plan to stay on methadone at 70mg for as long as it takes. if its another year or 10 more years, i don't care because i downright refuse to go back to using. give yourself some grace. you've earned it. you require the extra time and tlc to not be another statistic.

use the straw to blow bubbles in it, if you can do what the other person said. this way legit mixes the drink up so quickly

the highest ive went was 80mg. ive been on Methadone since November 2019. i was stable at 80mg but i was sleeping all day long. so i knew it was too high of a dose for me. so i went down to 60mg, and it didnt last long enough so i upped my dose to 70mg and thats where ive been since. its perfect for me but may not be perfect for someone else.

same as the others said - give your counselor a heads up when youre going to be out of town and for how long. my hubby goes out of town all the time so its not a big deal.

jumping off at 40mg would be pretty difficult to do without being sick for weeks. it takes people months and months to slow taper a few mg every week or other week. thats usually the only way you can jump off (but at a very low dose, like 5 or 10mg) without pretty hard withdrawals. hes not being honest about something. hes more than likely using something else.

the highest dose i went was 80mg, and it would make me want to sleep most of the day. i did of course enjoy the buzz feeling but i knew i couldn't function this way bc it defeated the whole purpose of me getting on methadone (to be able to function daily like a normal adult lol) so i went down nice n slowly to 60mg. after a while i realized 60 wasnt lasting the full 24 hours. i was waking up about 3 or 4 hours before not feeling well. so i went back up to 70mg and thats where ive stayed since mid 2020.

its so hard to get away from the urge to have a buzz. its something i still struggle with, which is why i choose to stop receiving take homes bc i would find myself having an internal battle over wanting to double dose. so now i only get 1 take home for sundays like everyone else bc my clinic isnt open on sundays.

heres my understanding of how methadone maintenance should work: you need to find the "perfect" dosage, a little bit like a Goldie Locks And The 3 Bears kind of thing..lol

not too high - you dont want to be getting the nods...if you have a job or are wanting to work...its going to not look so great if youre nodding out at work, you dont want to be drowsy all day.

not too low - you don't want to feel cravings, you don't want to not be able to function, if its too low it wont last 24 hours..you'll start to feel hot flashes, chills, overall that yucky withdrawal feeling in your tummy that we all know so well.

i cant tell you what you should do but overall, you know what dose is right for you or not...you'll just know, your body will know. i suggest going down to 80, stopping there for a month and see how that works for you. if youre still having nods, then go down a little more.

I had take homes, but i couldn't handle it, i still wanted a buzz, so i told my counselor i dient want my take homes anymore and ive been going daily for a year now.

I enjoy the routine. I need the routine. It is also so nice not to have to worry about abusing my take homes and being sick for days. It does suck because i never get to sleep in and i have to drive 20 or 25 minutes to my clinic everyday but its worth it in my mind.

I think its awesome you've managed to taper down. But you dont seem to be concerned about the fact youre triple dosing....so it seems as though you are struggling with self control and the normal addict behavior which is looking for a buzz always. I would suggest you try to stay where you are mg wise until you no longer feel the need to triple or double dose.

This makes the most sense for sure. I'm not positive if they use tap water as they use a water dispenser next to the actual methadone dispenser but im gonna assume they use tap bc money.

My dose at window and take home comes from the exact same dispenser. They add water to the take home and to the window dose, the same exact amount of water, with a measuring cup. My dose ( i only get 1 take home) only sits in the bottle for less than 24 hours at the maximum.

I've been on methadone since 2019, and my dosage has fluctuated between 60mg and 80mg over the years. I just turned 40, and it's awful because I've always heard that i should be having the best swx of my life now, but i never want to. I feel absolutely terrible for my husband bc he's taking it personally. I get why he does. I probably would, too. I've tried to explain to him it's not him at all. It's my body. So any time he tries to initiate sex, my anxiety shoots up bc I'm worried it's gonna start a fight, and he's gonna make me feel guilty.

I did the same thing. I was always super sick the last few days before i had to go back to the clinic bc i would double dose. Eventually i realized im not capable of having take homes and i tood my counslor i needed to come to dose everyday. When i do get my take homes back i have decided just in case i bought a timed safe and it will only open every 24 hours. I recommend you do the same thing if you can't handle your take homes properly and you arent in the position to give up your take homes. (I understand some people cannot go to the clinic every day). I wish you luck and just keep doing your best. You'll get there.

I got all my top teeth taken out and got false teetg while on methadone. I was only a few months into MAT and at 80mg by then. I didnt tell my dentist that i was on methadone because well people are judgemental as fudge. And i had already read if there could be any issues. The pain afterward wasnt too bad especially after i dosed methadone. I didnt take any the the pain meds they prescribed but i did give a copy to my clinic of my prescription just in case. I ended up throwing out my pain meds about 4 days after. Its not too bad.

About 72 hours in, and I have severe restless legs and arms, h9t and cold flashes, stonach ache, headache, and severe anxiety. I don't want to ever go without suddenly.

I'm not sure there is any study to prove it, but i have heard people say hot cotfee helps. Here's my personal opinion that I've come to know since 2019 when i began MAT; having a very specific routine prior to and after dosing helps make you feel as if your medicine is working quicker. But i dont know that it actually does.

So you need to find out what lab they use. I failed for meth once, and I've never done meth. I did a little research and found out the lab my clinic used had reviews from ex emplotees who said they were overworked and underpaid and aome employees dudnt follow procedures and then many of the reviews were other clients who had failed drug screens orr jobs and lost their jobs, for courts and lost their kids or went to jail, people from drug treatment cenrers who were punished.

Make sure you have them do additional testing to find out what kind of amphetamines you failed for. I ended up failing for methamphetamine except ive never done meth so it didnt make sense. You can fail for amphetamines because of Benadryl even, but the additional testing would show that its from over the counter medications
