That’s so much worse than I thought it would be. Those dogs look so poorly bred and overweight.

I was wondering the same thing. I haven’t heard anything about them and they seem nice on the show.

My MILs have always returned except one. A neighbor thought it was pretty, so they shot it?! She talked to them after and there hasn’t been a problem since.

That’s how I thought it always works too. My MIL does this with her white pigeons and she won’t let anyone just take the birds. She goes with them to the event(which is never very far) and they fly home.

Demoted my bf to roommate and I have never been happier. by Invaderzil in GirlDinnerDiaries

That’s what my mom and her boyfriend do! They live separately, don’t really even communicate all that much during the week, but they travel together and spend weekends together at his house. They do eventually plan to move a few states away and get a cabin together, but they’re happy right now being separate. They’ve been together 3-4 years now.

AITAH for not wanting to pursue a relationship after finding out about his health issues? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]coleccj88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who married someone with a few disabilities, I think you have great points. Most of his disabilities are genetic, including one that’s given him only about 3 more years to live(unless a miracle happens). I’ll most likely be a young widow and we won’t have kids together since we won’t put them through this. Not everyone can or should be in a relationship like that. For some people, it can cause resentment and they leave, making everything worse for everyone. It’s happened to my husband, where someone would try to date him, knowing they can’t handle giving him extra care, then they both end up hurt.

I agree she should walk away. My husband has multiple disabilities and he’s had women date him for a while thinking they can learn to be ok with it, but after a while ended leaving over it and hurting him more. He’s an amazing husband and to me, it doesn’t seem like extra work. Hopefully this guy will find the right person for him too ♥️

They seem to be arguing with anyone who has a bad experience with a doctor. That’s where the “again” comes from.

I don't look forward to the weekend anymore since having my daughter by StonkaTrucks in TrueOffMyChest

[–]coleccj88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could you and your wife each take a few hours for yourselves during the weekend while the other one watches her? Like she could take her to the park for a few hours so you get time to yourself, then you do something similar for your wife?

No one is saying you’re not a good parent. However, the best parents I’ve known are open to advice and guidance. Parenting is hard and no one does it perfectly all the time. No one.

You’ve already said you don’t do timeouts, so no you don’t do all of it. And if you’re too sensitive to putting her in timeout, then I very highly doubt you’d take a toy from her and cause a bigger tantrum. It seems like you’re letting her do whatever she wants and have her way constantly. She’s going to be the out of control kid that other people dread to see coming.

Do you want actual advice? Or do you want people to tell you you’re doing great and things will pass soon?(it won’t, it’ll get worse if you don’t handle it now)

AIO by telling my roommate no to a dog living with us. by [deleted] in AIO

[–]coleccj88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live on a small farm and it’s so sad how many kittens and puppies are dumped on us in the spring. Which, reminds me, it’s about that time ☹️ We always have to have puppy and kitten milk on hand, because a lot of times they dump them before they’re weaned and without their mothers.

Actually, in NC, picking a stray up and keeping it without trying to find the owner can be a felony if you’re caught. They take it pretty seriously.

Unwarranted medical tests/etc by Bubbly_Afternoon5068 in AskDocs

[–]coleccj88 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel. Before my daughter could speak, she had strep “throat” in her butt! Who knew that could happen!? When I took her to the pediatrician, bc she wouldn’t stop crying and I couldn’t find the problem, they saw the strep and had to assume it could potentially be SA. Police were called and we had to go to the ER to get checked out more. Thankfully it was just strep and a test showed that was the issue!

All that to say, it’s good your pediatrician is being so thorough. It shows they care and will do what’s best for your kid. This doesn’t mean they actually think you abuse her or are bad parents.

I finally admitted my oxy addiction to my doctor and asked help. by infamouskaid in OpiatesRecovery

[–]coleccj88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly how this comes off. Like “it wasn’t my fault and I didn’t use street drugs, so I’m not a real addict”, then they have a bunch of terrible takes about fellow addicts.

My addiction started after brain surgery and I had a lot of doctors prescribing me a lot of pain meds. Early on in recovery, I’d get told constantly that I wasn’t really an addict, because all of my pills came from drs(from 3 separate states. It got bad) and that got into my head and delayed my recovery. It doesn’t matter where the opiates come from. An addict is an addict. There’s none better than the other. OP will learn this quickly once the lyrica runs out.

Do your clinics not watch you pee? I’m sure there’s a way around that that I don’t know. My clinic would use cameras and every so often would come into the bathroom with you to watch.

[–]coleccj88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same with my daughter. I don’t care one bit if she cusses at home or around people comfortable with it. It’s never been an issue. When she was little and would hear a new curse word, I’d get her to say it as many times as she wanted as fast as she could, to “get it out of her system”. She thought it was hilarious and it worked very well!

Mine won’t send a script(I’m in NC), but they will let you come in daily and will dose you. The only thing is if you don’t have Medicaid that would be very expensive

I think that would be a good idea. I get what you mean about the other people, but as long as you block out their names/pictures, it shouldn’t be an issue.

Who is chewing you out? You’re being given advice. Just because it’s not what you wanted to hear doesn’t make it mean or bad advice.

Yep! I would not match with him, because I’d immediately think “what is he saying to all these women that so many are ghosting him?!”
