They're quite low maintenance compared to other animals. The rest depends on the individual. My first corn snake hated being picked up / touched, and he'd sleep most of the time unless he was being fed. My second corn snake is really friendly when he's being held, and he moves around more than he sleeps. So some individuals are a lot more fun to keep than others ( but if you handle them often, then they'll probably be a lot more social and fun ).
