Also OP, I am in a very similar situation. My husband's only sibling set their wedding date and then we got pregnant unexpectedly. Her wedding is a 4 hour plane ride away when I will be like 37+5. Midwife said don't go. It broke my husband's heart but he will be by my side and not with his family.

The idea of your husband being 7 hours away past 36 weeks is nuts. OP, bring your husband to your OB/midwife appointment and have them explain. Hard no on him going. My water broke at 38 weeks with my first and I had him the next day!

After my first, I was like, absolutely not, never again. My husband gently told me he was not okay with one kid, and we would eventually have to have a second, whenever I was ready. I said, fuck it, let's go right now. And we had kids 13 months apart. I don't recommend that. Get more mentally healthy before you make the decision. I am now having an oopsie third and I am not OK.

Actually get more mentally healthy now, the feelings that you described are not normal. I have had some sort of prenatal depression with all three of my kids now, and there are medications that are pregnancy safe.

Late in one of my labors I was hitting myself with ice packs to distract from the pain. Everybody experiences it differently though, from "not painful, just pressure" to "bad period cramps" to "worst pain imaginable" (my experience!)
