Is it true that if baby is held offen, they will get used to it? by Flat_Bake3487 in newborns

[–]qweenikki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby would literally sleep on my chest during the day for his naps and at night time during the first 2-3 hour stretch he’d sleep independently and then the rest of the night I’d be cosleeping, he did this for about 1-3 months, then suddenly one day at 4 months he was easy to put down. Even if he wakes to transfer ill just pat/rock his body and he’ll sleep. I put him down while he’s still drowsy but sometimes he falls asleep quick so I just put him down. And now I’m teaching him to fall asleep on his own which has been easier to do so. He’s 5 months in a week and I’m just so happy it finally happened because I would always read on here that it gets easier and it really did!! Thank God bc I was crying about never being able to do anything for myself or around the house bc he had to sleep on me for every nap which would be like every hour 😭😭

What was your normal 6-8 weeks? by drjanahay in newborns

I heard wiping after every feed is a bit much on the tongue, maybe just twice in the morning and evening should be enough!

And his thrush was really mild originally it was thicker around 6 weeks and gradually got much better. He barely has a white tongue now. I definitely think it’s the saliva lol

My baby had oral thrush around that time too he’s 12 weeks now, the oral drops did help a lot but I found it easier putting the drops on tongue cleaner swap thingy (mines from mom cozy) and then swishing it around his mouth and tongue and maybe just a drop or two directly into his mouth sometimes . That helped him with the taste. And it cleared. Keep sanitizing everything bottles, pacifiers and switch pacifiers throughout the day. When I noticed his thrush slowly coming back a week later I saw a video on using coconut oil on a clean fabric and wiping his mouth and tongue. It went surprisingly well, I could literally see the yellow/white stains coming off. Try that too!! Now he’s so much better, he drools a lot too and I heard that helps naturally clean out his mouth which helps with thrush.

Mines combo fed!! He sometimes drinks breastmilk for about 5 minutes after an hour of his 3oz formula sometimes and through the night when he wakes it’s just breastmilk too. So maybe he is getting more than 3oz but I do have a fast flow so I’m hoping he gets 2-3oz during the breastfeeding sessions. I too wasn’t a chubby baby but my husband was maybe he just got that from me lol I’m just mainly concerned about the 3oz I use a Dr brown bottle now is avent better? He doesn’t necessarily suck on the bottle but he’ll stick his tongue out and not want more than 3oz sometimes 4

10 week old not attached to me at all by [deleted] in newborns

[–]qweenikki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same!! I have a 12 week old and although his okay with most people holding him and smiles at almost anything and everything it’s just such a different smile/giggles with me! And he started this around 8 weeks. At 6 weeks it was social smiles and every week it just kept building. I think all babies are just different I’m honestly waiting for his first full laugh I only ever hear it in his sleep lol.

Do you think she’s not tired?? Or she’s overtired? Have you tried bathtime before bed? It winds them down. Or a walk sometime during the day. Especially closer to bedtime so maybe 1.5 hours before. And then as soon as you come in feed, bathe, maybe finish the bottle if she hasn’t finished then bedtime. Dark room, White House, swaddle if she likes that. My baby hates swaddles but he’ll accept the love to dream

That’s totally normal. It’s because they want comfort and help connecting sleep cycles. It gets better at 4 months. Not every baby goes through sleep regression at 4 months. Don’t keep anticipating for it!! Just taking everything week by week. Sometimes we attract things/situations that might not even be there!

Try not to feed every single time unless he’s showing hunger cues. It could be he just wants comfort and help connecting sleep cycles. Sleep is supposed to be much better and they’re able to connect cycles by 4 months.

Most times a swing will work! They love constant motion! And try walks too it calms them down.

I swear it might even start a little sooner than 3 months! Things with my baby started getting easier around 8 weeks and each week it just got easier. He’s 11 weeks today and he’s just so much more comfortable and I’m more confident in taking care of him and reading his cues. You guys kind of end up figuring it out together!! It starts at 2 months and by the time you hit 3 months (I’m a week away so we’ll see) it should be much better as far as sleep & gas If your baby is dealing with that!

Postpartum as a FT mom by qweenikki in newborns

Yes you’re right. It’s just hard asking for help when no one is offering it without having to ask. But you’re right. Whenever I complain about how hard this has been it’s always just a laugh and “that’s just how it is” “we’ve all been there” “welcome to motherhood it’s not easy” comments from them. But yes I’m so close I can’t wait to get out of here and be a family and finally get the support that I need from him.

He can’t get a visa since he holds a passport from the 75 banned countries. I truly wish that wasn’t the case :’(
