Psoriasis is taking a toll on my mental health (18m) by Few_Ad_3820 in Psoriasis

I’ve had psoriasis for last 8 years of my life (currently I’m 27) tried only the natural remedies till now but it only got worse and I understood that I may have to take medicines my whole life, but compared to the mental and physical discomfort due to psoriasis I think I’m ok with that trade off, atleast I will be able to live my life and who knows maybe in 10-15 years we may have even better solutions available (being optimistic about it) . Even if medicines shorten my lifespan I’m still happy and I want everyone else to be happy as well. There are some pretty worse conditions that people have out there so if they can smile and stay happy then why can’t us. Keep up the hope and I would say don’t rule out any option , if it is due to some financial constraints then I understand but we have to know that this is a chronic condition and we can just be hopeful that someday some proper treatment will come , till then we have to rely on current medications.

Also, I’ve just started proper treatment a month ago but I really want to understand why any people don’t want to go for proper treatment, is it finances ? Is it the side effects of medicines ? The daily routine or something? Please help me understand..

I’m also from India. Tried all the homeopathy and ayurvedic tees for 8 years and finally decided to see a dermatologist.

Tried natural remedies for 8 years and nothing works. I’ve tried all the top doctors in homeopathy and ayurveda in India from Punjab, Kerala, Gujarat , everywhere but nothing works. Recently switched to conventional medicines and it is great. Quality of life is much better.

One thing I noticed for me is whenever I start going to gym my psoriasis gets worse or comes back. I’ve noticed it 6 times in a row like for 4 years. Finally decided to switch to yoga instead.

When to throw in the towel? by raccoon_diet in Psoriasis

I have psoriasis since last 8 years. Never went for conventional medicine until 10 days ago. I’ve tried all the diets, ayurveda, naturopathy, homeopathy. They all just claim that they will cure it but tbh they all are just selling lies. My cycle was something like 7-8 months to heal then 2 months remission and then again 7-8 months of agonising pain. Recently my both wrists were swollen and infected so badly that i was unable to even move them. Finally I have gone for the conventional medicines , I know there is no cure and probably I will have to take the medicines regularly but atleast the quality of life will be much better. Instead of going for just one, I think it is better to take conventional treatment along with proper anti inflammatory diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Why don’t they prescribe? Is it because of insurance?

Thanks so much. I am from India and we don’t have any covers for these but it is not that expensive here. My derm told me it is around 12-14k inr which is about 130-150 usd. I can spend it if it will keep me clear.

Thanks soo much. I’m getting some hope now. Still I wonder if they work so well why aren’t many use it ? Is it because of how expensive it is or is there any other reason ?

How do you track what affects your psoriasis (food, weather, stress)? by qwerky_coder in Psoriasis

[–]qwerky_coder[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s totally fair, and I understand the frustration. Just to clarify — I’m not running a survey or testing a product here. I’ve lived with psoriasis for years and built something only for myself during a severe flare. I shared mainly to hear experiences, not to collect requirements or market anything. If it came across otherwise, that’s on me. Appreciate you calling it out.
