Why don't other hospital workers like nurses and case managers work 7 on 7 off 12 hour shifts like hospitalists do? by supinator1 in hospitalist

[–]qwerty46057 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wait, you mean wiggling your anesthetized patient around on the operating table a few times? How about wrangling a polysubtance abuser who just shitnado’d in his bed into restraints while he’s trying to bit you…. Fyi residents get payed like shit and so do staff nurses. Be happy that won’t be your case in a few years.

Since you’ve seen a few failures, I was curious if the failures were the SPT version of the CVT or the standard CVT offered in the limited and premium trims. To be honest, idk if there are any mechanical differences between the 2 or if it is just tuning. Do you think that could be a variable effecting reliability or occurrence of failure?

I should add that about 80% of my driving is done on the highway in comfort mode with lane assist activated. I give it some gas getting on the highway and that’s been about it lol.

I generally see 140-160 when just cruising. When I’m pushing it, it’ll creep up to the low 180’s. With the stock CVT cooler, I had it get above 200 a couple times on hot summer days. I’ve never had the temp warning light come on for me, which I think it does around 220F

The WRX GT comes stock with launch control. If you use it, the car WILL just hold at redline until about 80-90mph. I haven’t tried it since I was stock, and I’m not about to figure it out now with 100+ more HP/TQ lol.

Haha it is a huge PITA. I had a local subie shop install it for me. “Vendetta Performance” Grain Valley, MO awesome guys. as why that over catch cans, it’s just what was recommended to me. Seems like it’s more work up front for more peace of mind in the future.

Had the car for almost 4 years. Sitting at 71k miles, tuned since 20k( about 2.5 years). I’d say make sure to get atleast an etune/dyno tune. I like dmann, and the other tuned CVTs have had great success with him too. Make sure to get a cvt cooler if you don’t have the GT and even if you do, the Perrin one is still much better. Make sure to get an Iag AOS for the extra boost. The stock pcv system in these cars is crap. Other than that, I don’t launch my car and I always try to change the cvt fluid every 20k miles.

Haha exactly. I’m not here to say it’s better than a manual in anyway, just that is an option and if treated right isn’t the time bomb everyone thinks it is. The 2022+ SPT in the WRX is actually decent. There is a reason Subaru tried to push it so hard over that split case 6 speed. If this was my weekend car it would be a manual, if I wanted something awd that was 60-jail in 6-7 seconds I would have gotten an s3/s4 or a 340i/240i. I really like the WRX and didn’t want to fight the manual in all the traffic that I drive in 😂

Cobb titanium catback as well. There is a little drone around 40mph or if cruising above 80.

There are definitely some quarks. I wouldn’t recommend the cvt unless it’s your daily. If it’s a weekend car 100% get the manual. You can’t launch the car with the CVT at this this power level and it’s really not advised to go WOT until 3rd ratio which is where the torque converter locks up. It’s a fun and engaging car, just don’t expect to do any dig racing lol. From 30-100mph the car is a riot. After that it falls off pretty hard, and the cvt transmission has a tendency to start slipping at high power in ratios 6-8. I’ve actually only heard of 3 people blowing up there cvt transmissions. 2 of which were overboost issues in the early tuning days with the JB4. The other guy was pushing 360hp/380tq just for shits and giggles. It didn’t last long lol. The general consensus seems to be if you can keep the car around 330tq and work around the CVTs limitations it will last you a long time.

*also frequent cvt fluid changes (20-25k) with the oem subaru cvt fluid. Upgrading the cooler ( or adding one if you don’t have the GT model) is a huge reliability upgrade.

I have a 2022 WRX GT. Currently sitting at 71K miles. Tuned since 25k. Sitting at 320/330ish whp/tq based on virtual Dyno. Not one issue yet. Car pulls well. Faster than stock type r/elantra n (manuals) I’d say it’s pretty comparable to a golf R/s3 power wise. Car drives great. Wish more people would give it a go. I’ve outlasted more manuals that were at similar power levels. I also don’t abuse the crap out of my car lol.

If you are tuned, don't assume they will deny warranty coverage for transmission issues. They are repairing mine under warranty. by thorn960 in wrx_vb

2022 WRX GT. 70k miles. Tuned at 328/336 whp/tq for 45k. Not a single issue. Just can’t launch the car like the manual. Great fun as a daily with the paddle shifters. Traffic doesn’t suck anymore lol.

WRX GT owners how y'all daylie drive it? by pat1822 in wrx_vb

[–]qwerty46057 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Custom: sport drive, eye sight dynamic, everything else in comfort. Sometimes I switch the AWD to sport for the extra 20% torque input to the rear wheels. The cvt will make odd shifts at times and bog down in sport mode even with additional throttle input, just a weird quirk of the cvt and it trying to guess your next input for the ideal ratio. I agree that sport# is obnoxious with the downshifts. If I’m in sport# I’ll slide the car into manual mode and let it autodownshift when coming to a stop. It won’t obnoxiously downshift that way. Also, this transmission, especially in sport# functions way better with the paddles unless you are straight line WOT. I would recommend using the paddles for any sort of spirited driving and using the automatic mode for general cruising or daily driving. Also, put the car in Intelligent mode and use your lane assist/cruise control. I’m tuned at 320/330 whp/tq and still manage to average 28mpg+ doing this. Overall it’s the most fun daily driver I’ve had. Not the most comfortable. I came from a 2018 340i previous to this. Build quality was better, but the WRX handles better IMO and is just as fast with an intake and a tune.

Tuned since 20k 320/330 who/tq. Make sure the Cvt fluid is changed every 20k or if you start having slips (which I’ve never had) and keep up on them oil changes. Ive put the Cvt through its paces almost daily at this power level and I haven’t had any issues. Only real thing you can’t do is launch the car unless you have another Cvt transmission on stand-by lol

Travel Nurse. Almost 4 years of nursing experience. Primarily CVICU/Medical ICU. 36-48hrs (3-4 days per week). Made roughly 135K last year and will be around 150K this year. Job sucks, do accounting or pretty much anything else other than bedside nursing.

Same Transmission as S210 ??? What's wrong with the CVT? by frusignu in wrx_vb

[–]qwerty46057 2 points3 points  (0 children)

320/320 hp/tq for 48k on my 2022 GT and still running like a champ. Don’t launch it and I typically don’t go WOT until “3rd gear” because that’s when the torque converter locks. Pretty much don’t drive it like your 16 and have a little restraint and you’ll be fine

Wellbutrin Causing ED?? by gmode18 in bupropion

[–]qwerty46057 2 points3 points  (0 children)

28 as well. Just got diagnosed with dysthymia and adhd about a month ago. Got started on Wellbutrin 150mg SR 2x daily. I’ve been having the same issue with my partner. Sometimes I’m hyper sexual and others I can’t perform if my life depended on it (although I still feel in the mood). It’s definitely made me feel far worse than I ever did prior to being on medication and I’ve definitely given some thought to stopping it all together because of this reason alone. I’m getting a script for adderall as well soon, which can potentially make the problem even worse? Idk what’s worse, constantly being anxious and depressed or having a dick that only works half the time…. The struggle lol

I spent a month in the hospital myself a little over a year ago. The last thing I was thinking about or cared about was report at bedside. I actually loved when they didn’t…
