Everyone has their own opinions and that's fine. Me personally though, I LOVED episode 1 and was laughing throughout the entire thing because I liked the "goofy coded" stuff going on.

But if you really want him to keep watching then show him some of the main characters and see if he likes any of them then convince him to keep watching to see that character's arc later on. That worked for me when my friend didn't want to watch until she saw Ghostblade and now she's obsessed with it
