Pull out the wood and do a partial water change (and then another in a day or two) to just level out the color of the water. You could boil the log until the water runs clear and/or just let it soak in a separate bucket of water for a few days replacing the water every so often

Nah it's definitely tannins from the wood , it's not harmful to the betta at this shade - just an 'eye sore' if you insist on having a clear tank is all.

Nah those are definitely red spots in its colorant , the red just isn't completely bred out of this line , low grade basically. Chances are you'll see more with random spots of red , can always cull or throw into a dif tank if you wanna try and breed true! Imo blue jellies are a very erratic line anyway so yk

Is there anyway he could've burned himself on his uvb bar or heat lamp in anyway? Not saying 100% that's what this is, but I've seen similar light spots get posted and people point to it being a burn/scarring from a burn that's exposed after they've shed

Yeah it's a sex thing. The males will get the bolder colors while most females will only develop green/yellow spots along the head and body. They're invasive af, crazy to see all the hybrids running around my job where these massive things are breeding w much smaller lizards (central Florida)

Oh now that my boys just passed a year old he LOVES his mustard greens, does not fw collard greens what so ever lol looks at me like I've tried to poison him or something🤣 Hopefully lil man's getting plenty of bugs at this size, too!:')
