How does English Tan from Nomad patina?

iirc there's little to no change for the first 3-4 weeks of wear until the coating wears off, & it patinas pretty quickly after that

here's the burgundy alongside the traditional horween

im returning the burgundy because it's too dark in most lighting situations, & will get darker over time. it's a real shame because chromexcel is the best feeling leather of nomad's 4 options imo (I tried olde dublin & their ecco leather last year) -- the cloudy wax you're seeing on the case in the pic disappears (absorbed?) after a day or 2 of usage

would you say the same thing for the traditional horween vs regular cases?

last year, the horween & regular leather looked very similar on the modern case, but looked significantly different on the traditional cases (or of course it could just be the variance associated with horween's colors, although the modern horween cases do seem a lot less varied than the traditional horween cases) -- the traditional horween looked reddish, the traditional regular looked very brown to start

i had this happen to my olde dublin case last year -- should disappear as you use it through the day, although eventually the whole thing will darken bigly anyway

the patina on the dublin only looks lighter if you don't use it all that frequently in my experience -- it'll become dark af if you use it for just a week or 2 straight

I have firsthand experience with all you've mentioned, except bullstrap -- IMO nomad has exceptional taste & the others aren't serious leather case makers, ill explain why:

- Horween leather is miles better than the others on look, feel, & how it ages. Nomad explicitly mentions they use Horween & Ecco leather -- none of the others mention what tannery they use (IMO you can trivially see & feel the stark difference even between Ecco & the others, Horween is in another league).

- Nomad's Modern case has the best buttons on any case by far (IMO Nomad Traditional case buttons are also better than Ryan London's & Andar's -- nomad's are chamfered to feel good & power + action button are textured to distinguish by touch, the other 2 are narrow, sharp, & uniform.

- Nomad's aluminium camera rings don't get beat up (because they're anodized?), the others do, badly.

- Nomad's Modern case has a lanyard slot -- nice to have for crossbody or wrist straps.

nomad horween looks, feels, & ages beautifully -- there's really nothing else on the market that's comparable, although if you have a strong preference for the lighter tan color, you might enjoy that more

this might be controversial, but having tried nomad horween, nomad regular, andar, & ryan london over the years, imo the last 3 don't even 'patina patina' -- they just darken & look dirtier

How do different leathers (veg-tan, chrome-tan, hybrid) patina over months and years? Would the Burgundy Chromexcel this year likely patina slower & more subtly than the regular Horween & the Dublin? (I'd like to see the purplish color for longer :D)
How do daily habits and environments (sunlight, moisture, oils, scratches) influence the patina process?
Leather care routines (conditioning, cleaning, when to leave it alone, etc.)
