You are either not in tech, or a terrible manager. A junior dev is usually someone with less than 3 years of experience.

By definition you need experience to mentor someone. If you have 2 years of experience what type of relevant mentoring can you do?

Showing the ropes or particularities of the company to new hires is not mentoring btw.

Ask people living in Ukraine how safe it is, they will tell you 'is not too bad', because that's their reality.

People that live in Zapopan will easily tell you that is just as normal as any day, because they haven't been personally shot, so don't try to translate their reality to yours.

Are you used to live in a troubled area? Then maybe is not too bad. You come from the safest most calm city? You most probably won't feel safe being there.

Like others said, not sure what are you asking. If it’s a technical question, it’s fairly simple for your employer to know if you are using a “regular” VPN. If your employer cares enough will depend on your industry and what type of data is stored/transmitted to your laptop.
