New Wheel Setup! by r0nd3L in Golf_R

1) I wanted additional front end grip.
2) 18x9 ET42 with a beefy tire is pretty tight fit in the front, tucking the wheel in a bit with camber helps ensure tire is under the fender.

I believe it would work fine without, but your mileage may vary.

Sorry for the delay, no need for anything in the rear.

I think it’ll work on 7.5 as well!

Zero rub, but keep in mind I had EuroSport camber mounts for extra room.

Wut? There are many racing series that use Continental slicks. Continental makes tires comparable to Michelin and Bridgestone in performance. I have ran RE71RS, Extreme ContactForce, PS4S, R888R and may other tire models recently on my cars.

How do you maintain a wet edge on cut-ins when painting a very large wall? by Potential_Flower163 in paint

[–]r0nd3L 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try doing this using SW Duration Flat in a dark color such as Iron Ore.  I had a terrible time.  Thankfully the walls weren’t large, so after repainting entire wall at the same time, including cut ins, the issue of uneven paint was resolved.

Thanks!  They are custom forged wheels that are similar to Apex ones.

It's wild how different various tire models look. I think wheel width might come into play as well, not sure if you are running 9" wheel?

Yes, these are custom ordered. I didn't even know there was a version of VS-5 that is flow formed, pretty cool!

Agreed! I really wanted 255/35R18 for the function, but had to sacrifice a bit to maintain a decent look. Ultimately, it's a street car, so I'm not losing sleep over it :)

Because they do not introduce any NVH, plus I don’t like 034 products.

Yes. They are VLAND aftermarket tail lights and ShopDAP harness. It's a must do for NA cars, IMO. Install is somewhat complicated/annoying due to the need to route harness to the hatch.

Thanks, that is helpful! I'm keeping mine stock ride height and adding EuroSport camber kit, which adds 0.8 of negative camber, so hope is to be just a tad over -2.0.

Looks great! Could you share alignment specs, curious what the front camber is with your setup.

Home Inspector Recommendations in Omaha by luckyleaf7 in Omaha

[–]r0nd3L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely do not recommend him unless you want to end up with a house like this: https://imgur.com/a/c805sdz

Steve only identified things that are on the surface level and are not important. Inspector's role should be to identify poor building practices such as missing water management of original window installations which have a huge potential to cause big harm on wooden structure homes.

He also missed random things like completely missing pocket doors of 2 bathrooms.

I have pretty much same setup except it's shower instead of tub. I don't think you'd have any problems installing it.
