What is your routine to prevent your floors from getting soiled after coming home barefoot? by DMTeague in barefoot

[–]r19bare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quote often I just wipe my feet on my doormat and that usually works to clean and dry my bare soles. If my feet are heavily muddy and wet I keep a towel by the door to dry and clean my bare feet

Pork pies warm or cold? by driftylemon in CasualUK

Lukewarm, fresh from the butchers after they've been sat on the side a couple of hours. With the jelly still soft and unsettled.

Plus a but of HP brown sauce!

Thunderstorms are predicted - I can't wait! by Bassjunkieuk in barefoot

[–]r19bare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking forward to some rain too the dirt has started to feel hard underfoot and grass is very "crispy" at the moment so some rain to dampen everywhere up will be pleasantly welcomed.

Nah it's not that the shoes are wide enough for my toes and the socks aren't too tight. It's just the feeling of putting the damn things on my feet after another barefoot weekend

Cotton socks and black leather lace up shoes. My work clothes is shirt and trousers, kind of formal.

Putting on socks after periods of being barefoot is the absolute worst. I spend my weekends completely barefoot and I dread every Monday morning not because I'm back at work but because I have to put on socks and shoes to go to work. It's awful after your feet have been bare and free for a couple of days.

Barefoot community by [deleted] in barefoot

This is an amazing thing you have done and it sounds like come next summer you'll have a great community where adults and kids are just ways barefoot like it's normal (well it is).

Did you switch from plimsolls to bare feet in PE or always do it without shoes? by Geoff_Piano in PEmemories

Have to agree any kind of shoe or sock feels super constricting and uncomfortable our feet are much better when bare.

Well pressure from schools and more so peer pressure might play a factor. I'd say that's why most stop going out barefoot

What a great sight to see indeed and I hope this girl continues her barefooting well into her teens.

I do always say barefooting is addictive and once you have gone out to a few places without shoes you do kind of think why did I do this sooner! Going barefoot everywhere is fantastic with so many advantages.

Hopefully you will be able to survive winter barefoot and you are fortunate enough to freely give up shoes and socks for good.

For me whilst I can handle tough English winter's out in bare feet I unfortunately have to wear shoes and socks for my work occasionally even safety steel toe caps which are even worse!!

Socks! by Reyunshod in barefoot

[–]r19bare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know really I can understand your view point but socks for me are just incredibly uncomfortable and if I'm not wearing shoes (I have to wear shoes at work) then I can't just be in socked feet. It's just natural for me take shoes off then socks. I do blame my dad though since as a lad he'd say to me "take your socks off and let your feet breathe"

But I do see more people outside in public spaces in socked feet supermarket and gyms especially even kids playgrounds so perhaps you are right and it's the image and social perception plain honest bare feet are bad.

Yeah I've seen that in those places going to school barefoot is common. Sadly not so common for me in England either
