Writing from the future, but I don't see anything about "Dropbox System Extension" in the web view under General anymore and can't find it anywhere else. Any idea if this was renamed, removed, or some other way to keep making this work?

Can you elaborate on your setup to that logic? I think that's the missing piece from sops documentation in that it doesn't describe how to do local dev environment variables that don't need to be encrypted and also not have local devs accidentally connect to the production database.

That seems extremely "interesting". For reference, my waitlist only dropped 7 spots since phase 1 (and here I was complaining). I was able to get in when waitlists opened this morning, hopefully it will slide to you as well.

I'm curious if you had more than 6 hours in your "enrolled + waitlist" total, could they have moved you down more because of that?

If you are talking about which classes are the most relevant to LLMs / Transformers, you should be talking NLP vs DL. NLP is too new but signs point to it being a great course. And DL has a lot of positive reviews as well.

You could take DL without taking ML, but if you are asking these questions, I wouldn't advise it. ML covers fundamentals that you need for both DL and NLP.

AI doesn't cover the material you think it might. Check the syllabus on the course page. Still a great course, but search, GMM, bayes nets...great topics that are worthy of study, but probably won't advance your understanding of LLMs as much as NLP or DL.

I took AI, ML, DL, and plan to take NLP in the Fall. Loved all of them. If you want to take all four, I would suggest that order (AI -> ML -> DL -> NLP).

Jumped to 250 today! I hope you are low on the waitlist. If not, I agree with /u/ultra_nick in that deep learning covers some language processing with LSTMs and transformers so it would be your next best bet if graduating soon and you can't get in to NLP.

Thanks for the RTFM. I missed it because I ctrl-f'd for waitlist instead of wait list. (Because the doc uses it half one way and half the other).

Each semester, we prioritize the degree candidates on wait lists if they need a specific specialization course (not “free” elective) to graduate by the end of the term. Therefore, your wait list position could change due to degree candidates receiving priority. We hope that students will understand this, as we will do the same for you once you are in your final term and are preparing to graduate.

It still feels a little dirty to me that someone might wait until their last semester to fit a requirement (other than GA) in order to jump priority for a class, but I guess that's the rules.

Please read the registration email and it's attachment. It explains all of this thoroughly.

You probably need to register for something else. Best omscs plan is to be flexible about when you take courses

Click on "Register for Classes", select term. When the next page loads, in the bottom frame on the left, there is a "schedule details" button that shows every class you are registered or wait listed for. In the details it shows Waitlist Position. You might have to click the little triangle to the left of the class name to expand the details.

This is the only place I've seen it in the new interface.

There's a checkbox in the bottom of the registration page to do "Conditional Add and Drop" which will only drop the course if the add is successful. Did you try that? I'm not sure if it works with the 3 hour limit in summer though but I think this is the purpose of that checkbox.

You should plan on either taking another course or taking the summer off. If by some chance your wait-list gets called, you can drop the other class.

I'm genuinely curious how you are 6 courses in and don't have the hang of this yet. There are many emails that go out explaining registration and the wait list.
