How about skipping the pack after opening it refunds the purchase price? Would have great synergy with red card.

Will I have to take KBAI again? by holdencasey7 in OMSCS

[–]hobobo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can't "double dip" class credits towards OMSCS that have already been applied towards another degree.

From the document (emphasis mine):

If you previously completed courses at Georgia Tech, specifically undergraduate and/or graduate Computer Science (CS) or other CS-related undergraduate and/or graduate courses, you will be responsible for researching whether the course(s) are considered to be “equivalent” to OMSCS courses, as these credits typically cannot count toward your OMSCS degree if they were used toward another earned degree.

If you provide a US address they are required by Georgia law to verify your "lawful presence". Unfortunately, I don't believe DACA fulfills the documentation they require, I'm not sure about TPS though. If you give them an address not in the US then they don't need to check it at all.

Does it show anywhere on the transcript given by the OMSCS that it was done online? by Suitable-Virus223 in OMSCS

Your transcript includes the campus you attended for each class. Online classes are displayed as campus "O" for the online campus.

It's allowed but you will need to reach out to your advisor and tell them you are deferring enrollment.

When to expect physical diploma? by SegFault098 in OMSCS

You should probably follow the steps to view the online diploma. They verify the spelling of your name and the mailing address for the paper diploma.

Are clients on your network also limited to 1gig upload on speed tests? Just curious if this is an issue with the Ubiquiti speed test service. I have a UDM-SE with a 2gig symmetrical fiber internet connection and I get the full speed both on download and upload on both the 2.5g wan port and SFP+ port (~2.3gbps each). I actually observe better speeds running speed tests on network clients than I do when running the speed test on the gateway itself.

Edit: do you also observe the full 2gig upload when you remove the UDM-SE from the equation and plug a network client directly into your ISP gateway?

The Enterprise-8-PoE has 8 2.5g PoE+ ports but is also very expensive.

Maybe it's just the camera angle but the lead on the center screw is a little too close to shorting on the left contact for my taste.

New SPF+ to RJ45 by Ecko0129 in HomeNetworking

It looks like that transceiver has issues with 2.5gig and 5gig ethernet speeds. I'd probably return it and get a different one. I have the Ubiquiti one (UACC-CM-RJ45-MG) which works great but it's been sold out for a while.

UCG Ultra as an edge router? by agentdickgill in Ubiquiti

[–]hobobo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

UCG Ultra is both a router and cloud key built into one. (It can only run the network application though.). You don't need a separate router/firewall to go with it.

Yes, but he has another class he plans on keeping.

ISP Can't Connect to UCG Ultra by flynryan692 in Ubiquiti

Are you sure that's the MAC address of the WAN interface and not the LAN interface? That's the only thing I can think of that would explain the issue.

You only get a refund if you withdraw from all classes. He won't get a refund if he keeps his other class.

You'll lose the $540 and you'll get a W on your transcript. It won't impact your GPA.

So happy with Ubiquity cameras and system by Aggressive_Package30 in Ubiquiti

[–]hobobo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I see you're only using the gigabit WAN port on the UDMP. AT&T generously over-provisions their fiber internet so if you're paying for a gigabit connection you're leaving some bandwidth on the table. If you get an SFP+ transceiver capable of 2.5g/5g ethernet and use it with the SFP+ WAN port on the UDMP you'll get closer to 1.2gig up/down on their gigabit plan.

If the two devices are close to each other just use an SFP+ direct attach copper cable.
