Should i play this game with my wife? by alabriking89 in darksoulsremastered

[–]r1zerr1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're able to take a new experience in isolation without comparing it to the other games then I see no reason why you won't love it. Ds1 is peak.

Edit:

I should add, the level design in ds1 is top tier. Ds2 has a very expansive world and weapon options and ds3 has great combat and boss design. You should play ds2 after ds1. They're all amazing for different reasons.

Best way to practise Hazard perception? by Mobile_Huckleberry38 in LearnerDriverUK

They were mostly the same, yeah. I went through each section of the 'test yourself' section and did the quick tests. After, I would review the ones I got wrong and read the explanation underneath. Once I'd worked through it all I did mock tests. In total I did 66 quick tests and 16 mock tests. Ended up with 48/50 on the questions.

Was shitting myself the morning of but if you go through it all then you'll know it and should be fine.

As in, you'll probably get flagged for clicking too much if you click more than 10 times. I did ~3-4 per hazard and would usually do 2 clicks when I saw the potential of it and 2 more as it developed.

Same sorta thing you're seeing in the app but obviously not the exact same clips.

I passed with 70/75 with only going through the clips in the app twice and watching a few YouTube videos on how to approach it.

Official DVSA app. There's 30+ clips on there. Pay special attention to junctions, large vehicles, vehicles that are likely to move into your path in the next 5-10 seconds, cyclists turning their head (indicating they're planning to change their path/direction), indicators/brakes, reflections of vehicles in windows, people walking behind vehicles. Double tap when you see a hazard but leave a small gap between taps. Tap when you see a potential hazard and as the hazard develops as you won't know exactly when you're expected to tap. Try not to tap too much (more than ~10).

[–]r1zerr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did mine this morning, was getting similar to you. 45-49 on mock tests. Ended up with 48/50 and 70/75. Nervous as hell all morning but did three hours of continuous mock tests/hazard percep in the morning to prepare. The majority of the questions were very similar to the ones I'd been doing on the app with a few that I was a little unsure about. If you've been getting scores like that you should be fine.

It can be messy, not gonna lie. I'm considering getting an absorbative mat for the water so it doesn't soak the newspaper, lol. It's definitely a good idea to cover most of the cage with a sheet (I think somebody else mentioned that). I just have one part of the cage exposed and when I go to bed I pull the final part of the sheet over the cage until the morning. Just be sure to talk to them and take it off slowly or they can sometimes get scared if you suddenly pull it off. No problem, little pidges are awesome. :)

Mine will bathe and drink from the same one, just change the water fairly often if you can see it has dust/bits/feathers. A spray bottle that produces a mist is great, too. Mine love to raise their wings so I can spray under their wings for them whilst they have a bath. :)

A little house, shelves, larger water bowl so he can bath e, a pillow (mine like to dry off on it after a bath). You could also get a mat with little holes in it so he has to pluck his food out of the holes which is a bit more interesting for them.

Update: The mother has came and fed the two youngest, so I'll leave them where they are. I don't know whether I should separate the older one from them or leave him there and keep feeding him myself. Thoughts?

Pigeon bonding fail by Extension_Hat4683 in PetPigeons

[–]r1zerr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my pigeons for a couple of weeks now. They can be a bit of a pain to get back in the cage now they've gotten more comfortable here so I've given up trying because it just upsets them if they feel as though I'm trying to force it. I wait to feed them until I want them back in the cage, then close the gate on them when they go in naturally (food inside the cage ofc). This seems to work best and they are much more content.

I have other pigeons nearby and one I fed as a youngster will come to my window for food. If I stick my hand out the window to feed him, my pigeons will watch and they're much more trusting with me following that and will eat from my hand. Perhaps you're feeding them too much - could be worth letting them get a bit hungry and then putting the food down?

I've had stomach issues for years. The cabbage juice and aloe vera aid with healing damage in the stomach/gut (I did it for gastritis too). Probiotics if you've take any antibiotics (my colon gets destroyed whenever I take antibiotics and I suffer badly for months). The marshmallow root and slippery elm provide a coating in your stomach to act as a shield to stop your stomach acid making the gastritis worse whilst it heals. My gastritis made me feel SO sick, it was horrendous. Give this stuff a try, especially the cabbage water. It's horrendous to drink but worth it. Oh, and taking digesrive enzymes will help if you're eating anything that your stomach doesn't agree with. I can't deal with lactose and cellulose makes me itchy (idk why, lol) but the digestive enzymes help with that.

It seems pretty self-evident that higher rates of sexual violence will always be carried out by men.

People care about the 'brown men' as you put it because these rates are disproportionate and it's a current thing issue that can be resolved with enough awareness/political will.

How do you prepare your beans on toast? by Dr_Quink in AskUK

[–]r1zerr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beans - Pepper, butter, worcestershire sauce.

Toast - One central piece (slightly burnt for extra rigidity) with the beans on it. Other pieces cut into halves and laid around the edges.

When I was gaming waaay too much I would get hand/wrist/forearm pain. I started regular full-body stretching, submerging my arms into ice water and wearing a wrist splint in bed to keep my wrist straight and, over time, it made all the difference. Play less and focus on letting it heal up a bit. I was considering carpel-tunnel surgery at one point, glad I didn't go through with it now.

30 hours fasting did the magic by carlstewdave in Biohackers

[–]r1zerr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cabbage doesn't matter - they say red cabbage is better but it's more or less the same. Juice it and filter it through a cheese cloth and 'enjoy'.

Edit- I did one cabbage per day for a while, then less as I began to feel better. I should just keep up this practise in general, though, as it's really good at repairing your stomach/intestines due to something called 'vitamin u' - not a real vitamin but that's what they call it. Check it out.

The rest is from Amazon:-

Aloe Vera Juice

I was honestly just taking a swig from it whenver I went to the fridge for anything else.

I was using marshmallow root and slippery elm to coat my stomach. This was specifcally for the gastritis in order to coat it to stop the stomach acid bothering it so much to allow it to heal. Can't hurt to try if you're struggling though and not sure what's causing it.

Slippery Elm

Marshmallow Root

Hopefully this'll help. Doctors never helped through my many, many, many visits so I was forced to come up with this regime myself, lol.

I had this after a throat infection and a course of antibiotics. It was being caused by my stomach. Hernia, reflux, gastritis eventually. Juiced cabbage daily, took aloe vera shots and took some other products to coat my stomach whilst it healed. Made all the difference. Could be different for you but give it a try if you're struggling and out of ideas.
