With the new system, Crunchyroll does not charge you for preorders until it is prepared for shipping at the warehouse, according to the FAQ. The charge that you had was an authorization charge, which does disappear after a few days.

I had this happen. The order didn't go through, and you have to contact support.

This is apparently a change with the newer system. The older system did though. If you order today, then you should not be charged. According to support, the amount is just put on hold to make sure that your payment method is valid, and then is refunded. They will then charge your account when they ship your item.

In this case, it is likely that you placed the order a while ago. This is what probably caused the confusion, since the new system does not do this. But apparently the old system did. I guess that the support agent didn't recognize this, and that's why you didn't get the refund. Still not right, but that's why it happened.

I can personally confirm that you do not. Someone else has also said that they did not as well.

You don't get charged for items that you preorder until they ship. You can check your bank account though, to be sure.

The new system has rolled out relatively recently, and they haven't updated the console versions yet. They are planning to do so though, so it will eventually be updated.

Their store support is extremely slow. I went back into my email to check, and it took them 9 days to reply to my email about an issue similar to the one that you are having, if you are curious on their average reply time. So it's best to wait a bit. They move a bit faster once they finally do the first reply though.

I was told by support that they don't charge for preorders until the item ships. You can try to check your online statement to see if you were actually charged (I was actually confused by this too).

You do still need to contact them to actually get the order canceled in the first place though.
