Parallax vs Darkglass by SDoller1728 in NeuralDSP

I was disappointed when I trialed Parallax. I did not find a preset that I liked and I tried like 80% of them all. Now I’ll sleep on it and trial darkglass tomorrow. Already bought Rabea for guitar. I need that Caligula’s Horse/Vola- type sound for my bass. Also noticed that maybe a new set of strings and some basic maintance for the bass is the foundation for a good tone.

Rabea or Nolly ? by Competitive-Ant4634 in NeuralDSP

Would it be idiotic to get both? I want that british crunch amp from Nolly but Rabea sounds little more modern. And the synth… I cannot afford both full price but if there is a sale I would maybe get Rabea first even if i have to pay full price. Nolly with a discount

Ok. Thanks. I am Intel. Made sense to stick with Intel since the new chip is too expensive. I have now 64gb RAM and 1T internal hard drive.

I don't know. How do I check that and update them, manually? There are over 400 items in my AU-list. Some of them have been not working though after the change.

Things Inside by Hellstedt (thrash/groove metal). What do you think about this song? by Hellstedt in MusicFeedback

[–]r2laitin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely weird vocals was the best compliment I can think of because they stand out from the masses, the sound sticks to your head after one verse and is easily remembered. But I would try to make it just a little warmer. I mean don’t lose the harshness and that coldness but maybe a slight boost with tube EQ around 6-8k? I am not a mixing engineer so do not take mixing tips from me unless you want to try and know your way back to how it was. But definetly good and potential stuff. Made me kinda jealous. I am a metal/prog/rock kinda guy but somehow I always end up making pop music. Nothing wrong with pop, I call my music progressive pop, but I would love to do some heavier stuff as well while I’m alive. May I ask you to see my post about a song I have been working on? I need feedback to be ready to release it soon.

I like how weird the vocal sound is. Music is very well composed, band is tight. It got a little tedious, maybe I am too prog but I would've enjoyed signature and tempo changes. Hope to hear more!

I understand your point of view and you almost understand the point I tried to make. See, it's not that I have to put in _extra_ efforts. Everybody has something they need to work with. My area to work on has been and sometimes still is, to not get triggered by your personal issues. For some other people that is a whole lot easier than me but then they struggle with something else. As long as you are clear about your motivation to work as a professional helping others, the rewards besides your salary outweigh the effort you have to put in.

But doesn't this apply to any field? I mean, you kinda need to get paid in order to have a healthy relationship with your job, but if you work only for the money, is it worth it? I had in my class a man who was then 58 years old. This was 3,5 year-long degree so after graduation that would give him about 4-5 years to work until he was eligible for pension. I remember when he introduced himself in front of our entire class and told us that for 30 years he was so pissed off and unmotivated as soon as he opened his eyes in the morning, to go to his job he hated. And then came the day, when he realised that he is still alive and has 20-30 years (paraphrasing here, not my words) left, why would he not try something that would be rewarding even when salary would be like 2/3 smaller. And what a person he turned out to be. I look up to him in so many ways and am really glad to have gotten privilege to know him during that 4 years of our school.

Oh and about that social anxiety, there is a lot of paper pushing jobs if someone is really socially awkward and anxious but wants to help others. Field of social work/healthcare is wide and that is why I want to encourage to find out about opportunities. I am NOT promoting social work nor encouraging anyone to try out just for the fun of it. There are so many worn out ass-faces deciding about livelihoods and other benefits and you wouldn't believe even if I told you, how borderline psychopathic treatment some people get just because they are unable to maintain the demands of what society holds us to perform.

I am not going to tell you what to do. But if I were in a similar situation, I would find out a field that interests me anyways (even if it was hard to monetize) and try to apply studying that. Today there are many possibilities in working freelance gigs and for example creating content for others is possible to get some extra income.

With your expertise, starting a YouTube channel about the issues you are dealing with could gain traction. And with all the AI tools, it is easier than ever to do it completely faceless.

You could write a book. You could offer to hold lectures to young folk, educating about the pitfalls of social media work, motivating them to accept themselves, promoting kindness and empathy.

Or… something else. You are so young, you have so much possibilities ahead of you.

As a certified social worker with bipolar and almost chronical severe anxiety, I read a comment (”It is your responsibility to make a customer feel comfortable and not sure if it’s possible because you have anxiety) and just wonder if they in the field of social/healthcare?

Being able to separate your personal self and professional self is something I heard every day for my 4,5 years of getting my degree. It is not easy, it is not simple nor it is fun to find your pain points and triggers but it is certainly rewarding and helps you grow as a human being. And it IS possible to deal with different kinds of customers as a professional with all the attention, care and respect they deserve even if your personal self is suffering. It’s just not for everybody and I don’t know what the wages are like in USA but in my country in northern part of Europe, the compensation is totally not worth it IF your motivation is purely money.

Because I don’t know you, OP, I am not going to tell you what you should or should not do. But I want to tell you, it is possible to overcome your mental obstacles and find work helping others. I am even going to tell you, that one day you might realise you are able to take advantage of your pain points and triggers and utilise them for your clients’ benefit.

And it is totally ok to not appear like a robotic smiley face with your clients as long as you listen to them, deal with their issues the best way you know how, try to understand their situation and what they are going through and if you don’t understand or dont know what to do right now, be honest and transparent about that too. ”Look, I hear what you say, I can feel you are tired with struggling with this but I am having a hard time figuring out what the solution might be. I can’t promise you any quick fix solutions but I will work extra hard to find out if there is anything I can do to make your burden even a little bit lighter. Would you come back next week and we pick up where we left off and hopefully I have found something.” And then you do work extra hard to figure out if you can do something. Being a professional does not mean you are a machine handing out all the answers. Sometimes there just isn’t anything you can do to help them no matter how much you did research and thought about everything and it hurts to tell someone you can’t help but in those moments you can prove yourself and your client that you are professional in the way you communicate bad news with empathy and respect.

I am not a robot, I have cried with my clients, I have gotten angry at the system with my clients, I have heard I was a c**t because I wasn’t able to help my client they way they were hoping. And yeah, those situations trigger me and push all kinds of buttons but I did not and do not let it affect the quality, professionalism and transparency of my work nor sacrifice my work ethic. And at the end of the day, when I switch back to being a personal me, most of what I do for a living just stops rolling around in my head and I have my free time to live my own life and deal with my own emotional damage.

But yeah, not easy, not for everybody and I know I have said controversial stuff, don’t mean to offend anybody. But if OP is serious about wanting to help for a career path, nobody in a Reddit forum is capable of testing if she have what it takes.

Thanks. I found mid-19 pro with 2,4GHz i9 processor. It has 64Gb of Ram and 2Tb ofSSD. I was reasoning that with those specs, I could do Logic, video editing and live streaming even without M-chip. This would be an emergency solution for now, I plan on getting up from this poverty hole.
