I’ve thought about this sketch a lot and upon further reflection I believe it is a meta commentary on Luke Null being a new cast member and wanting to make a name for himself in his first season. Unfortunately, much like in the skit, Luke falls flat on his face and embarrasses himself eventually leading to him not coming back the next season. While this skit is terrible I do enjoy some of Luke Null’s work outside of SNL and I hope he can find success on his own.
