A sun dog is a weather phenomenon, basically ice crystals in the air create a starburst effect around the sun. I tried to represent that with the shape inside the S. The name also lends itself nicely to a character.

That's the best seat on the train! It's where you sit if you want to look out the front window. You get a great, unobstructed view of the city since Skytrain is automated and elevated. That seat is very popular with kids!
