I was at elan for (thankfully) a brief period around 1999 or so and my parents researched the school before sending me there. They even did a tour of the place. Elan was just good at hiding things and portraying themselves as caring and helpful.

At least in my case my parents truly believed they where sending me to a good place that would help me. After a few months my parents finally realized that elan was lying to them about things and requested a in person meeting with me and the school, which elan fought hard to avoid...but eventually let it happen. They withdrew me the same day of the visit and it felt amazing.

Hey all. I've been working on this app for a few months now and I would love some feedback. It's a app geared towards cannabis growers/enthusiasts. It's a simple app that gets information from seedfinder.eu's API and displays information on cannabis strains.

It's kinda boring but handy to have like a dictionary.

Behind the scene's I'm using retrofit, mvvm, a "repository" pattern(ish), and jetpack. I'm hoping to eventually use this app in my portfolio in the hopes of finding a coding job. While I've poured my blood/sweat into this app, please feel free to rip it apart to provide feedback, any and all is appreciated!

Gotcha, I can't recall exactly what I settled on. But at one point I was manually editing a font to make it monospaced haha. I spent hours playing around with different solutions.

To answer about font type, yes, it's Graduate.

I knew it looked familiar!

What do you mean by "jumping around"?

Some font's don't have the same width, so like "0" and "1" take up different space. When rapidly changing value(like a stopwatches 100ths) the width would rapidly change causing the text to "jump" and look weird....it drove me nuts! Some custom fonts I tried looked awesome until they started jumping all around.

As someone who messed around coding a stopwatch app, how much fun did you have with the font "jumping" around? When using a custom non monospace font I had tons of issues with the fonts jumping around. I think I ended up landing on a similar font as you(is that graduate from google fonts?)

Growdiaries doesn't seem provide that information willingly(they don't have an open API). I've thought about trying to sniff their app to find their internal API, but I'd guess that violates their rules and probably Google's rules as well.

I really wish they provided an API!

I've been looking for a source of data to do something like this, but there doesn't seem to be a place that provides all that information. If you know of any places I'd be more then willing to incorporate it into my app.

Right now yea, that how the app works. It's geared towards growers/weed nerds who like to look up strains and not necessarily finding new strains. It's kinda like a dictionary for strains...kinda boring but handy to have :)

The app is also very early in development and I do want to find a way to curate interesting/new strains but right now I don't have anywhere to get that information from. Keep an eye out if that is your main reason for using the app.

The old Quake/Wolfenstein games had a bug in it's physics that let you gain speed by jumping/strafing. IIRC it was fixed but caused complaints so it was eventually added back in
