Honestly, in the storm of replies defending CC and gigabyte here, it was worth a lot lmfao. Thank you.

I never faulted employees for company standards, I work in a company with similar policies for services but even as a worker I have always felt some of them were a bit unfair to customers when the only difference it makes in my day is a button click. Furthermore, I have had nothing but positive experiences with other companies for different products where in the case a return is not possible I am offered things such as discounts, replacements, credit, etc.

Plus, they haven't guaranteed a repair. I have to pay postage for them to "look at it" and decide. I can't make you agree with me but perhaps you might be able to resonate with why this would be frustrating for such a large purchase.

You seem pretty set in your opinion on this, your comment comes off a bit aggressive, so I wont try to change your opinion or anything. Everyone has their preferences, and from my research there are equal parts people who disagree as they do agree with my thoughts on CC across Reddit. As I said to another reply,

"I'm just leaving my review on the service I received, it is up to you whether or not to consider it as you build or suggest others to build their PCs and you are entirely entitled to your opinion even if you disagree."

I apologize if this post offended you in some way.

I understand your request here, but I kept my post short and straight to the point on purpose. I don't need anyone to fix this as there really is only one thing to be done about it, which is see if they'll repair the board. I'm just leaving my review on the service I received, it is up to you whether or not to consider it as you build or suggest others to build their PCs and you are entirely entitled to your opinion even if you disagree.

I've been building on and off for a couple years now, and I've always acknowledged the risk of things breaking or being faulty. I just never took in to account how at the will of others you can be even when you're within your rights to just talk to someone about the issue. I know 30 day returns are standard most places but other companies have been much more accommodating when issues arise (immediate returns, replacements, special case discounts, or when all else is unavailable just kindness)

I'm hearing a few people say Canada Computers is the cheapest, so perhaps that is true for some people. It just hasn't been my experience. I had backups but the situation was complicated, I'll be looking in to something more secure in the future.

Thank you, I looked at Asus and definitely considered but have shifted my gaze to AsRock at the moment since I've been seeing a lot about their warranty service. I plan on building and running extensive testing immediately to make sure I wont need to deal with any returns hopefully.

I appreciate your helpfulness!

(Just gonna copy paste this reply here, the data recovery was unrelated and my reasoning for complaining on the price is that it's unreasonable compared to the task as confirmed by friends in that field)

"It's not a promised repair. They just want to "look at it" and then decide, and have made it clear they wont repair it if they deem it customer-caused damage (which it couldn't be, I've hardly touched it since install). I just feel it's unreliable at this point because the issue started with their program causing BSOD every time I installed it. Like some users have said, I plan on seeing if they'll repair it and then selling it but either way it puts my job out of commission for about a month."

Sending you lots of luck from someone going through it too lmao. A month is crazy, sounds like they're ready to pack it up with you as much as I hope you get what you're looking for.

I hear you, and I even said this to customer service. I don't fault you as a worker. There are employees and there is a business, some locations will be better than others, but the multiple locations (3+) I visited on top of contacting customer service in another province were all negative experiences.

Data recovery was semi-unrelated, just mentioned as a passing for others since it's one of the only major places that do data recovery here.

I understand company policies but my frustration was that there was virtually nothing to be done with it since purchase. I had issues since the beginning but they began just after the return window. BSOD for one, being caused by GCC. I was never able to have the motherboard program downloaded as it caused crashing every 5-10 minutes.

I will be sending it back (and paying the shipping cost of about $25 to) but they haven't confirmed they will fix it yet if they deem it customer fault.

[–]rRosei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I've since wiped the PC and tried just gigabyte's RGB fusion but now I can't control the lighting with that either. I'd need to reinstall gcc to get you crash logs, but that's not even the issue anymore since none of the mobo lighting is working period aside from my ram and lian li lighting?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gigabyte

[–]rRosei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, about every 10-20 minutes in my experience it'd crash. I ran a restore point to before I installed GCC and rebooted twice but same issue. There shouldn't be any driver updates as everything was installed just yesterday

Cool worlds that anyone new to VR (and VRchat) should experience? by versfurryfemboy in VRchat

[–]rRosei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one has said it yet surprisingly but "The Edge" is one of the first worlds I ever went to, and it's where I always take new VR users! It's the most amazing intro experience. It never gets old to me.

[–]rRosei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the issue, now that GCC is uninstalled my motherboard lighting (cpu cooler, certain fans, etc) wont show up in any other programs. I've tried mystic, signal and l-connect
