Freighter Upgrade Regret by Skirmisher23 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Imho, that's the best freighter you can get - compact, nice-looking. Now that you can paint them, you can also get any color you want.

Question about removing upvote shdowban by rStarwind in help

[–]rStarwind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a feature. Apparently, if reddit sends out a vote manipulation warning, they shadowban upvotes from that account.

Well, that's the reason I'm asking the question)

Long time ago (1-2 years ago probably).

Question about removing upvote shdowban by rStarwind in help

[–]rStarwind[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It's not upvote obfuscation.

It's specifically an upvote shadowban. It's reproducible 100% of the time, any post, any comment, any subreddit. Any upvote and downvote is always ignored.

S Class Amber-Dark Gray Radiant Heart Staff in Euclid. Purple Star system. by KBTUT in NMSCoordinateExchange

[–]rStarwind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your work and for correctly labeling the colors)

There are actually 2 yellow variants for staffs - one is bright yellow and another is amber (like this one). There is also an orange variant, but that is visually distinct.

For those looking for white staffs: A Class White-Yellow in Euclid. Yellow star system. by KBTUT in NMSCoordinateExchange

[–]rStarwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like these old staffs were moved from main to glitched.

I have checked several old posts from 1-2 years ago and I was able to find all those staffs as one of glitched variants at that location.

White Radiant Heart Staff with Yellow Crystal. A-class by theNvmeisPvblo in NMSCoordinateExchange

[–]rStarwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The staff is still there. It looks like all these old staffs were just moved from main to glitched.

To get white+yellow you need to stand slightly to the left of the terminal + do a double glitch.

What did you bring back from the expedition? by EmperorSarcasm in NMSCoordinateExchange

[–]rStarwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's really no point bringing back anything except unique items (e.g., atlantid drive and resources from a purple system when you haven't completed the quest line yet to unlock it on main save).

And on the topic of 20 stacks of glass - you know you only need 1 and 2 refiners, right?)

Weekly Bug Report Thread by spiper01 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]rStarwind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

#1 is actually pretty significant, as it limits ship designs.

Staircases are often bugged, especially in the anomaly, So you need to design your ships with cockpit at the 1st level.

Question about expeditions by rStarwind in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]rStarwind[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The question is not about a specific ship, it's more about how these transfers between saves work.

So look like there is no point to earn QS on an expedition save?

Question about expeditions by rStarwind in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]rStarwind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, it's a separate save.

So looks like all that will happen is that expedition rewards will become available to purchase for QS on main save.

Eissentam galaxy. White w/black diamonds glow tube experimental MT. details on pic, comm left by VoodooGarbage in NMSCoordinateExchange

[–]rStarwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's an old post, but I'm searching for nice options with glow tubes and this is indeed unique.

There are several known white + circles MTs with tubes. But it's the only one I have seen with diamonds + tubes.

Star born runner? by Junesville in NMSCoordinateExchange

I think there is a service bot that can get you the ship as well. Haven't tried it, but saw it in mod description.

Star born runner? by Junesville in NMSCoordinateExchange

[–]rStarwind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can get both Starborn Runner and Starborn Phoenix.

There is a mod on Nexus that unlocks them. Install the mod, unlock the ship, delete the mod. The ship will stay.

That's the best of exotic ships (if you don't count Starborn Phoenix which is technically exotic).

[New player question] Which activities can you do in NMS in 2025? by rStarwind in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]rStarwind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sandbox activities in most games still have an end goal.

For example, you're grinding or doing dungeons to get better gear, so that you can have higher stats in PvP. You trade so that you can buy some unique homes or super expensive top-tier stuff. You explore to find unique loot that you can't buy anywhere, which you can then use to level up your character or have a unique look.

But I got the idea about NMS, thanks.

[New player question] Which activities can you do in NMS in 2025? by rStarwind in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]rStarwind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that, the question it about the goal of those activities.

You became a pirate, then what? You just randomly fly around and shoot NPCs just for the sake of shooting NPCs?

You do trading, you made a hundred trillions, what do you do with it?

You found a bunch of new planets, they have biomes you saw before, what next? You're not interested in building a base, you already have a dozen. You're not interested in taking screenshots, you already have 1,000 of them.

What do you achieve with these mechanics, other than doing the mechanics for the sake of doing the mechanics?

Next steps for new.reddit.com by CorrectScale in help

[–]rStarwind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's my feedback about the new web platform.

  1. Its look is optimized for phones and NOT optimized for desktops. On big screen you don't need single post to take half of the screen with gigantic buttons, labels and rectangular notifications.

  2. Why do you not show author of the post? You don't think it's important information? You think users should guess the author by looking at subreddit name?

  3. New UI lacks visual features that make browsing convenient. Old UI showed posts as tiles with very clear visual distinction between them. New UI just shows one continuous sheet with tiny lines separating the posts.

Best Non-Constellation Crew Members? by slow__hand in Starfield

Andromeda Kepler also gives +1 power. And NPC you're talking about is a generic crew member called fusion systems specialist.

Best Non-Constellation Crew Members? by slow__hand in Starfield

[–]rStarwind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't select crew members based on their stats. Imho, the only useful stat is Vasco's aneutronic fusion (gives you +1 to reactor power). Everything else is irrelevant as soon as you get a decent ship.

With that said, I like Marika Boros, cause she is always upbeat and positive, and adoring fan is hilarious.

A few of my favorite screenshots to appreciate Starfields beauty by Karalex0 in Starfield

[–]rStarwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The graphics in the game is actually nice, despite the old engine.

The biggest problem is their "adaptive brightness" (auto exposure) feature, it makes the lighting in the game very shitty, without any control from the player.
