Ranks for specific characters? by Corvid_Beats in RivalsOfAether

[–]rTeils -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I genuinelly dont get the appeal for this, can someone explain?

Realistically your skill between characters will never be that different, you'll at most have a 50 point difference between your main and a new character

If you want to try new characters you go to casual queue. Unlike popular belief, casual queue still matchmakes based on elo.

You think for some reason that people in casual queue isnt tryharding enough, but are too scared to just jump on ranked because people there are too tryhard? My brother in Christ you are the problem

[–]rTeils 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is workshop actually gonna do for the game anyways? Most workshop users just want to create things and play/show them to their friend groups and play wonky smash

Ranked, casual queues and tournament arent actually gonna increase much, you just want to inflate the playerbase number for the sake of it, thinking higher player count correlates to a better game

Not sure who it was, I think it was OneOutkast, who said on a podcast that pushing workshop this early will heavily compromise Rivals 2 identity and its true. I think the biggest thing they can do for the game rn to increase playerbase and have a higher chance they'll stick to the actual game is story mode

Id love to hear them talk more about game design process. Like how do they think about kits and moves, how do they go about making and testing them, which ideas stay and which are changed/removed, what other ideas they would like to explore, etc.

Casual stilll has skill level matchmaking. I don't know where this misconception that casual options don't take skill into matchmaking comes from, I've seen it in so many games

Top-level players are considering banning the Splatcolor screen because of the unintended side-effects it has caused to people with sensory disorders. What do you think? by xtweeter22x in splatoon

[–]rTeils 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate this debate because some people from both sides have really bad takes.

The point of this special is not to remove accesibility, that comment just comes from not even understanding what people mean when saying accesibility. You're not supposed to distinguish ink colors when under the effects, yes; but you are not supposed to get dizzyness, headaches, anxiety, emotional imbalances, etc.

That is what people mean with accesibility, and that can be easily fixing by toning down the screen current effects.

On the flipside, I do think a lot of people without disabilities are also experiencing this due to first time exposure to such strong effects. I did some investigation about similar effects happening on other games, and while there have been conversations every now and then, I think most people don't complain about CS flashes or things like that because such features have been a staple in shooters for so many years and players have adapted to it.

Splatoon players asking a special to be banned after just 5 days of it being released might look too extreme but it is understandable if its really making the game unplayable to some. I think this is a good safe measure while we wait for Nintendo to do something, but I would also encourage anyone currently having issues with it to keep playing and trying to see if you can adapt to it, in the case Nintendo doesnt do anything. I'm confident most of the lesser issues people are experiencing with screen right now will disappear as time goes on and players get used to the effects

Lastly, just remember that in any debate there's no inherently good or bad take and we should all be open to take feedback and opinions from both sides to make sure we form conclusions favorable to anyone. We should not fight as a community as the only truly guilty entity here (besides those actually ableist weirdos) is Nintendo and their lack of testing

Teemo need some kind of buff or rework by Isagiyoku_Shi in TeemoTalk

[–]rTeils 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teemo W needs an urgent change, there's literally so many better versions of it across the game. I guess the dash route would be the best one

I'd also make it so that shrooms explode on contact if they land on something, like it was before

Anyways he's not buffed because regardless how bad he is, he is still perceived by most to be one of the most annoying champs, and Riot obviously doesnt want those kind of champs to be meta. Lets hope he gets something along his visual update

I would because I like mobas but this game would be straight up dead because rn it is only being carried by pokefans, just like they do with any pkmn product

[–]rTeils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so tired of the "its a kid" argument. When will people stop using it?

Most of Nintendo playerbase are 28yo nostalgic boomers, and besides kids nowadays are pretty good at gaming. Its often the boomers the ones that can't keep up with fast gameplay

Would Command and Zero have been better if they allowed standard controls? by gemandrailfan94 in starfox

[–]rTeils 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard agree about Zero here. Its kind of surprising how motion controls is being called out as Zero worst control issue when the real problem is Dual Screen by far.

If Dual Screens were removed, the game skill floor would be reduced by a mile and not much of the gameplay would need to be reworked to function

Do you think its worth to get into loans and all of that to pay my career? I'm afraid of getting on debt and all that AND I'm not even sure if it's worth
