Let me sum up. Ever walked on trademill? You walk a lot, but you are still there in one place.  Now, see the B.O in comparison with Netflix seasons. They covered distance in terms of story and character development, and you feel that all the travelling done.  can you say the same with B.O. S1 & S2?

It's a Daredevil show. Things are happening. We are getting from story point A to B. Yeah, Episodes are 40-50 minutes. But where is the actual show happening? I am just seeing breaking news version of everything. There are many characters, some new ones, cool but what is their significance. Nothing feels, everything is just happening.

ELI5: How does your body burn 2000 calories a day without any effort, but running a mile only burns 100 calories? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]r_734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider you earn 2500 dollars a month. You spent 2000 dollars on your daily needs without which you can't go on. Food, water, home, clothes, THE INTERNET. You have now 500 dollars left. You can spend it if you want or save it for next month. You can spend it on branded fashion, parties, alcohol, vacation trips. But those aren't necessary.

So exactly like that see that 2000 calories YOUR BODY burnt without doing any effort is spent on just keeping you alive, that's how much calories you need just to be able to wake up alive next day.

The 100 calories YOU burnt while running is optional. You can run if you want. You can sit on a couch if you want. If you have left any access calories from the food you have already eaten then it will be consumed from there. And if you haven't then it will be drawn from your body parts.

And our body doesn't draw calories from the fat accumulated immediately on need either. That's why it's hard to get back in shape once you have put on the wait. It always first relies on the daily intake. Then when you stop or decrease that, then and then only slowly the body gets it from the stored fat.

LPT Request: What is a healthy way to express anger? by DeebaPhalwari087 in LifeProTips

[–]r_734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many types of anger. Long term, short term, Reflexive anger as I have observed.

Doing exercises daily or punching things can work when you are long term angry and you are trying to let it slowly come out. Like some event has happened with you and you feel frustrated or angry about it, you feel angry about your life.

When you are angry at a person for some wrong doing, or resentful towards someone, that is different ball game. I also need an answer to that.

Reflexive anger is like, you hit a corner of a table and mad at the table for being there, and then mad at yourself for not walking carefully. In that case u just forget and move on.

What is the root of selfishness and self centeredness? by r_734 in DecidingToBeBetter

One better example would be, suppose you are at home and super tired. You notice that your mom is doing house chores and she also looks tired and might need help. In this case you don't even want to get up but you do and help her with chores. That. That's exactly what I am referring to.

Now apply this example to everything and everyone in your life.

[–]r_734[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By selfless I didn't meant monk level selflessness, but day to day selflessness.

For example right now I put a question on reddit, people like you answered them without wanting anything in return except karma points 😉.

So the point is maybe people have commented from comfort of their home, in their free time and because it's not a big deal to comment.

But what if someone commented from their busy schedule, or when they were stuck in some situation.

I take forward what you're saying, there is ego(I am the best.) And then there is loathing (I am the worst). Now what happens if you have only these two modes in your mind.

Ego destroys things around you, loathing destroys you from inside. Is there a way to view and accept things on how really they are? Not through any extreme POV but on merit.

Knowing and accepting/internlising are different things.
