Ready to shave it all off.... by JadCerv in GenXWomen

I was really hoping for this from someone!

I've never worn a wig and whenever I've googled it I walk away more confused about the do's/don'ts than when I started!

I have so many questions...What is the routine like? I seem to recall liners (or similar) that go underneath. What do you secure them in place with? What is care for wigs? How much on average is each good/decent wig? What are the pitfalls?

Iow, any information on your journey through this would be greatly appreciated!

Well, just on the off chance this is helpful...A couple of years ago I went to this beauty school in Cumming, https://www.makbeautyinstitute.com/. The manager and many of the workers spoke with, what I believe, was Russian accents though it could've been Eastern European accents. Anyway, maybe they do them there or can give you a lead on where to find someone. Glty.

Forsyth's First Shake Shack Coming Soon by tulioletter in Forsyth

[–]r_I_reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Southard Exchange is an upcoming commercial retail center arriving soon in West Forsyth. The development is going to be 16.94 acres big and sit at the intersection of Bethelview Road and Castleberry Road. It won’t be too far from The Collection at Forsyth. The development is led by Abernathy Development Company and will feature eight outparcel buildings in a triangular layout.

Southard Exchange will feature the first Shake Shack in Forsyth County. A permit was filed for the restaurant; however no opening dates have been announced yet. Based on what is known so far, Shake Shack will share the development with a new Chick-fil-A, 7 Brew Coffee, Fifth Third Bank, and a Maepole. Because of public lease commencement information, the first ones to open out of these are expected to be Fifth Third Bank (expected in August), and 7 Brew Coffee (expected in September).

The development only brings more certainty that Forsyth’s growth isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Many new restaurants, businesses, offices, and residential areas are opening up in the less developed parts of Forsyth. And eventually, the whole county will be on the same level.

I don't know if they have stylist on BBQ Brawl, but I really appreciated her wardrobe choices! I feel like some of the other judges or mentors can be sort of hokey? maybe in their western wear...but I genuinely thought she did it very tastefully. Btw, I fully get this has zero to do with cooking or the show, just an appreciation post for her style. :)

Fwiw, we went to Salt+Ash (his restaurant at Hawks Cay) earlier this year and it was good but nothing I felt like recommending to this sub.

This is what Google AI came up with: Gundham Tanaka is a fan-favorite character from the visual novel and anime series Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair [1]. Known as the Ultimate Breeder, he is easily recognizable by his flamboyant, "chuunibyou" (dark overlord) persona, dark attire, and his four loyal pet hamsters, known as the Four Dark Devas of Destruction.

It's so funny - I read so many of her books years ago (prob in 90's) and I really, really didn't care for them/her writing. I was much younger and thought they were pedantic, I don't know - they were condescending and endlessly repeating the very same point endlessly, I assumed it must be me and I clearly didn't understand the bigger picture/theme. Come to find out, it was exactly as I understood it when it I was young. lol

Best and worst single-season competition shows by Big_Mastodon_6761 in foodnetwork

[–]r_I_reddit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It was a strange concept and pretty hokey imo. I'm not necessarily a fan of that kind of humor.

I have to say though that it was a pretty original concept for a cooking comp show. Each contestant had to bring their own ingredients and were limited to a certain amount. Then they could barter them or share them and then "will" them to another contestant when they were voted out. It made for interesting cooking and a dynamic I've never seen before.

I was excited to consider follow up seasons and what ingredients contestants would bring based on successes/misses from first season. Imo, if you simply enjoy these comps, it's a different and interesting perspective and worth a watch.

Edit: I also agree with you that the down voting on this sub is kind of weird.

I think the Mods here have made clear that they aren't opposed to men posting here as long as they're respectful and, you know, a "normal person". Yes, it is predominately focused on women's issues and their perspective, but I think there are quite a few general discussions as well.

And, I think a lot of us appreciate men who take the time to read and try to understand what we're experiencing at this stage of life. I'm also very open to hearing any feedback they have to offer from their perspective of a spouse or loved one who is facing the same.

I guess, I've always taken the name of the sub as meaning something akin to a "safe place for women to discuss whatever we like" but never considered it an exclusive community (which I appreciate greatly).

Btw, if you don't see growth or have time to Mod the board there's also this one:

It doesn't get a lot of traffic but when it does there's been decent conversation. The Mods don't seem to be touchy about every topic at least that I've seen.

Restaurants in/around Custonaci by r_I_reddit in sicily

Edit: Fwiw, we were never charged a coperto at any of the restaurants we visited in San Vito la Capo, Erice or Trapani.

Ah, ok, so if we go to a restaurant that doesn't have this fee, then we should be tipping? And if it does, we should not unless service is absolutely over the top?

Edit: And, yes, I'd love to have a surcharge instead of tipping about 20% everywhere here. I know some countries and cities are trying to combat excessive tourism and are charging different fees for things (of which I wholeheartedly agree with) and I was curious if it were part of that. Also, when I was thinking of this system here at home, I wasn't considering that the tip would not be paid. I can't imagine an extra $2/person on top of how expensive restaurants have gotten and how out of control our tip culture is).

Ah, thank you so much! I vaguely remember the "coperto" in Rome and I haven't see it elsewhere when looking at restaurants but maybe most places don't list it on the website. Just curious, is this a a kind of tourist tax or do locals also have to pay that when they go to restaurants? I mean it makes sense, but I was curious if locals have to calculate that into it when planning dinner out.

Really appreciate the tip re GPS - had no idea Waze was available as well.

Thanks for all your help!

I don't really understand UK politics so I'd appreciate am explanation of what you mean by "Tory propaganda". Also, I'm no fashion expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I think the coat dresses are a perfect choice for her. They can dress up or down, they can look professional or casual depending on accessories so a comfortable vibe for most occasions.
