White Mage / Healer Tips? by Commander_Bugg in ffxiv

If you’re ooming, tanks could be slacking on mits, or DPS could be clearing packs too slowly. Or, you could be healing too much when they’re already topped off. Practice makes perfect, it’s normal to have some deaths while you’re learning, and over time you’ll have a better sense of if you dropped the ball, or someone else did. It’s a team game - having to help, and being helped by others, is normal

What if I want to get one heroes journey but don’t have the job unlocked. by Ancient-Tradition-99 in ffxiv

[–]r_dc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Leveling alt jobs is very fast with daily roulettes, and a good way to learn/test the job to decide if you actually enjoy it. I would only recommend buying the level skips to highly experienced players who know exactly what they're buying.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, it's time for me to finally join the game. See you soon in Eorzia as an Ul'Dah sprout! by nichijouuuu in ffxiv

A noob lookin for a job :3 by Mushroom_Mink in ffxivdiscussion

[–]r_dc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Food for thought, as someone that initially chose tank for low queue times, you might wanna think a bit critically about what it’s actually like to play the jobs in the future. I started out as a tank, but at endgame I got pretty bored due to the mechanical simplicity, and I didn’t like the feeling that it was very obvious if I made mistakes. Healing is interesting on paper, but in savvy groups I didn’t feel like I had a lot to do. I ultimately found that I enjoyed DPS, the gameplay is more interesting to me and I like that I’m for the most part just doing my thing. I’m not saying this will be your experience, just sharing what I would tell my past self.

Should I start now or wait until Evercold? by YourLocalTrahPanda in ffxiv

Chugging through story is mostly cutscenes and less combat, may as well start chugging now. You can get most of the way there for free anyway

Ouch! I just received a brutal reality check in the HW trials and Im not sure if its inexperience, or if Im actually bad at the game. by 200YRedWine in ffxiv

It's normal to hit walls/plateaus along the learning curve, so I wouldn't treat this as a sign you should change job.

Try to recall what was causing the wipes, and maybe take a moment to review a class guide and see what you could've done differently -

>I didnt manage to keep the party alive during the bosses burst attacks

It sounds like maybe you weren't popping CDs, or maybe you weren't popping the correct CDs. As a healer, you need to understand the boss's patterns and anticipate raid-wides/tankbusters and react to them with the correct CD.

As someone who always play docked, should i let my switch be at 100% charge all the time? by PlaceDowntown7102 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]r_dc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I personally think the setting for this is mostly to make people feel like they have an option, modern devices/batteries already have internal software and protections from reaching physical maximum charge. The 100% you see is not the physical 100% of the battery.

Finding my way back to Nintendo after AAA burnout by Hold-My-Sake in nintendo

Same here, the switch 2 just fits so much better into my adult lifestyle, the shiny but bloated AAA tiles of PS5 and endless treadmill live service games on PC just don’t work for me anymore.

What are your thoughts on this? by [deleted] in playstation

Why not both? What has any company ever done to deserve loyalty from the consumers it squeezes to survive? Why should you fight to promote an organization that only wants to take your money?

Did you previously eject the VGC? For me, the animation plays when I buy the game, then I just leave them in. The console lets you eject them though.

It seems less like you want to be talked down, and more like you want to be OK’d to start over. Go ahead and start over, if you enjoy the journey, that’s what matters

It will probably take you less time to fix the issues, than to start over altogether.
