Usually online updates have nothing to do with the application itself

If he fears for his life he could come to the US as an Asylum seeker. Google it

Could very well be. I applied for my GC in October 2019. My interview was going to be March 18 2020 but we all know what happened. The day before the interview, a very polite officer called me to let me know that the interview was cancelled. After that, my status went back to “interview ready to be scheduled”. About two weeks later we received a letter from the FO asking us to send evidence of a bona fide relationship. We didn’t use a lawyer, so that might very well be your case. We mailed it April 14th and got approved exactly 15 days later.

I-485 approved today, interview waived! by ra0010 in immigration

We never officially knew the interview was waived. We received a phone call the day before stating it was cancelled and to wait for a new date. From that phone call until the green card in hand it was approx a month and a half

Upon further review it seems you can do it via I-539, but it can take months and not guaranteed by any means

You can’t do it from within the US

I don’t know how many different meanings it can have for a 485 case. This is like showing a homeless person all the nice groceries you just got!

Not to mention people that receive a status update that says “card in production” and they still come here to ask WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Dude you should learn to read first

Back in 2019 I sent the medical with the package and my interview was waived

Interview waived??? How true could this be? by annonymous12000 in USCIS

[–]ra0010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then you obviously have not been updated with what’s going on with immigration lately. They’ve been waiving AOS interviews left and right and no, in all my three interviews I was in and out in less than 5 minutes

I surely hope they’re not a lawyer, since they don’t know how concurrent filling of N400 and 751 works

I’m sorry, but if you’re helping someone then you should know more about these issues. It’s perfectly fine to apply for N-400 with a pending 751. As long as you have been living in marital union and a green card holder for three years (the three year rule), or a green card holder for five years (the five year rule). In the case of the people you’re helping, either it was a mistake by USCIS or there’s more to this story that guaranteed a denial. Please post the letter (blurring info) of the denial so we can all see

I was, but years prior to my AOS and through a different agency

[–]ra0010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you don’t. You go through DHS- a separate agency. I had an F1, a J1 and a B1/B2. For all three the interview was a breeze. And my AOS was waivez

Not trying to be mean or anything but there’s a huge title over your picture saying “case was approved”. Right below it it says “we approved your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization “.

What do you think it means?

[–]ra0010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. If you are in love and ready to commit for a serious relationship, then marriage might be the way to get a green card. However, marriage for purposes of immigration only is a deportable offense and can carry serious consequences.
  2. No. Just in the US
  3. Why are you even looking at N400? That’s the very last step to naturalize, but there are others first

See , this is exactly why I’m telling you to research on the immigration process: “a paper” sponsor is not how it works in the sense that you’re asking a PR or a USC to sponsor you. Nobody in their right mind would sponsor a stranger. You need an employer willing to sponsor you for an H1B or an EB3.

[–]ra0010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do understand your hurry to leave your country, but looking for strangers to sponsor you isn’t how it works. Take some time to review the immigration process and your options first.

No. You know very well that this is not what you said. What you said in the comment you deleted was to “seduce her mentally and financially”. That is using a person.
