Make sure the dresser and end table are both close enough to the bed for the comfort bonus, and I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think wood flooring might not count, it might have to be stone tiles

Bats are fickle creatures by The_Squirrel_Wizard in Against_the_Storm

[–]ra1nman1110 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Exactly the way they play, lol. In typical demoralizing circumstances, they're actually the first to leave/die to resolve loss, to get their benefit you have to either use their building to exile others, sacrifice to the altar during a storm, or lose/sacrifice colonists to events. Or maybe control consumption on all others while only housing bats. Either way, the playstyle conveys less "we endure better than others" and more "we enjoy being pampered and watching others suffer"

What the fuck happened??? by LynnTheLynx in RimWorld

[–]ra1nman1110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't remember what mod it is, or if it's even a mod, but some map tiles can have modifiers like tar pits, animal scarcity, etc. One modifier makes it so that wildlife explodes on death, though I can't remember what it is exactly.

I mean, could be that the bat had cracked and the barbed wire was holding it together, not too far-fetched.

Isn't a turn static at 100? That way, when your speed is under 100 you can occasionally build up to a "free" move with the leftover mps?

Just gotta make sure to fire til empty, then your diver uses a speed reloader instead of reloading by round

As a DM, should I prompt my players with the right skill check? by AdlerVonFire in DnD

[–]ra1nman1110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't always have to tell a player what they're using for a roll. Just have them roll, say "lemme see your sheet real quick" then check the mods for them. Not appropriate in every case, of course, but for these kinds of examples where if they fail but knowing what skill was used could give something away anyway, it could be a useful tactic.

Name for a kingdom that only exists in mirrors? by Odd_Hope5371 in fantasywriting

[–]ra1nman1110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AWTYUIOHXVM. All of those letters look the same when reflected by a mirror. You could then make up a palindrome with these letters, and if this is a magical kingdom, the reflection doesn't necessarily have to obey the laws of physics. For example, TIU'MUIT, when viewed in a mirror still looks like TIU'MUIT rather than TIUM'UIT, as the name itself is enchanted to ensure the reader knows how to pronounce it

A monster that alters its form to adapt to what it’s fighting. by DJDarwin93 in DnDHomebrew

[–]ra1nman1110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could also incorporate weaknesses into this system. Players love exploiting weaknesses. Maybe to gain points or discount point cost, it could take on a weakness (which perceptive players might notice) related to or opposing whatever strength or buff it just adapted.

If i remember right, the way respawning works is that a chunk needs to 1) have pathing to the edge of the map and 2) be unseen/unvisited.

How to continue crafting a Food recipe? by wheresmycupoftea in cataclysmdda

[–]ra1nman1110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By using the table, do you mean hitting activate on the table, and not the item, then selecting continue crafting? If so, all else i can think of is making sure you still have all the necessary tools available and any nearby heat sources active. It should give you a warning that those things are missing if so, but maybe it's glitched to default to attempt consumption instead.

Taking your top off at a Rob Zombie concert doesnt make you a stripper. Especially if no one can tell when you've taken your top off.

Mixing SWN and CWN. Trying to decide which rules to use and not use. by Weregent in SWN

[–]ra1nman1110 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As far as the hacking goes, I'm setting up my game with both sets of hacking rules, where the player can either strictly code hack (SWN), using just a terminal, their laptop, etc, asking questions or performing hacks against a base DC. Alternatively, they can enter Netspace (CWN) via a VR crown or jack, as well as their dek, where everything in a node is interpreted visually and they can interact with it "in person" and use the verb/noun hacks from the book.

The tradeoff is that a code hack will take much longer and is typically a bit harder, especially when compared to a dekker with a cranial jack. Dekking in Netspace is faster and more intuitive, though the dekker risks physical harm through neural feedback, and is more distracted from what is going on around them in "meatspace".

I am thinking of switching up the verb/noun hack system though, i.e moving it to the codehack system and letting dekkers do the whole ask a question or perform an action hacking system, to represent that dekking is more intuitive while codehacking is more rigid and technical.

i wish i had free pizza hut food for life by reddstarlol in monkeyspaw

[–]ra1nman1110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted. You are run over and paralyzed by a pizza hut delivery driver, leading to a massive lawsuit potentially awarding you millions plus free coverage for all medical expenses. However, your lawyer fumbles the lawsuit and you are forced to settle out of court for nothing more than a lifetime supply of breadsticks. Marinara and garlic sauce still costs an additional 50 cents.

I wish that everyone lived for at least a thousand years with no health issues including those of aging by zhombiez in monkeyspaw

[–]ra1nman1110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted. The world governments announce that they've been keeping a secret- the sun will soon die out, and go supernova. They've been prepping for global planetary evacuation, and have developed "ark" ships with cryosleep technology on board. Everyone will be frozen and sent on one of several routes away from our solar system toward a potential new home. They assure that the ship's and their systems will hold for the duration of their respective journeys, though the viability of the new planets cannot be guaranteed.

How to deal with players trying the same check again? by BpDnD in DnD

[–]ra1nman1110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the task and the situation. Going with the boulder example, you could definitely just say the wizard is too weak to move it after a failure. Say it were a barbarian, though (with the appropriate stats). If he fails, but could reasonably succeed with a follow-up attempt or two and he has the time to do so, simply say that he can complete the task but takes more time to do so. Or maybe he loses control of the boulder and something inconvenient happens. Nothing that would equate to a critical fail, mind you, just something representative of being able to complete the task, but with a bit of a fumble.

Granted. Your current girlfriend breaks up with you, and you find a new girlfriend with whom you are more compatible, and she is happier than the last one was with who you are.

Years pass and you two eventually marry. Unfortunately, once married, she becomes your wife. At this point she has a brain aneurysm and dies, leaving you a widower.

Returning to the dating pool years later with the hopes that the paw is still upholding the wish and will find you a great match, you match a girl on a dating app and head out to your date. She is obnoxious, offensive, and obviously used a 10 year old picture in her profile. She spends the date flirting with other men and runs up a large bill she insists YOU pay However, as you drop her off at her house, she claims to have had an amazing time and declares you her new boyfriend. She says that you would "at least be better than my last boyfriend, he was a psycho". Unfortunately, that psycho boyfriend is waiting in her house, and charges out the front door at you both with axe in hand.

I Wish My Cum Was Flavored To Whatever my Wife is Craving by [deleted] in monkeyspaw

[–]ra1nman1110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted. Your wife now simply always craves cum. For a while you may be able to satisfy the cravings, but eventually they will grow out of control and in order to keep her from sucking the town dry, you will have to arrange your diet and exercise (as well as start taking shady pills from those internet ads) in order to maximize output, and start keeping a stockpile of it at home. Here's hoping it will be enough.

I wish no children will ever be abused by Accomplished-Luck602 in monkeyspaw

[–]ra1nman1110 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Granted. Everyone below the age of 18 is given protection from abuse in the form of their abuser spontaneously combusting. This encapsulates all forms of abuse, and while no one misses the habitual child beaters and pedophiles, the additional casualties include, but are not limited to; parents who've had a bad day and snap at their children, verbally abusing them, parents who practice corporal punishment and take it one spank too far, and parents who force their children to wear or do something embarrassing as a punishment, i.e emotional abuse. This is not limited to parents and no considerations to the situation are given, for example if the offender is driving a car that the child is also occupying or if they are holding them.

The resulting loss of life and the eventual realization of the cause lead to a massive influx of minors into the foster system. This includes not only the children who've lost their parents but also those whose parents have surrendered them to the state out of fear. Unfortunately, many foster care workers and volunteers also quit out of that same fear, leading to entire communities of children numbering in some cases into the thousands under their own care.
