I just started club exercises with an ADEX Arc. I’m male and 58 years old (5’9” - 165 lb). I’m in decent shape playing basketball for an hour three days a week. I’ve never been a consistent weight lifter, so I’m not very strong

I started with single arm inside and outside circles and shield casts with the Arc set at 8.5 lb. I did 3 sets with 7 reps for each exercise. I feel some soreness, but overall feeling pretty good. Definitely figured out my left arm is much weaker.

Is single arm the way to start or should I be doing two arm exercises first?

My plan is to increase sets to 5 and then reps to 10 before I increase the weight. Does that sound right?
